This watch maison was founded in 1875 by Edouard-Auguste Piguet (1853-1919) and Jules-Louis Audemars (1851-1918). Since its founding, it has never left the founding family's hands. While it has always specialized in the production of complicated timepieces, it began making custom-made watches for women shortly after its founding, and after World War I also gained fame for its slim watches. In 86, it released the world's first automatic tourbillon wristwatch. In 1992, it became a major shareholder of Renaud & Papies. Its representative works include the Royal Oak, Millenary, and Jules Audemars.
