Also known as a grained finish. Its antonym is a polished finish (mirror finish). It refers to a surface that has been finished with a file. It is basically a term used for dial finishing, and depending on the type of finish, it can be divided into circular, horizontal, vertical, etc. Nowadays, with the improvement in manufacturing precision, a combination of satin and polished finishes is often used to give a luxurious feel. There are also cases where the surface of movement parts has been satin-finished to improve their appearance. The parts are placed on an abrasive with diamond paste on top, and vertical grain is created.
