Triple Calendar

Triple Calendar

A mechanism that displays the month, day of the week, and date. The date is displayed by engaging a reduction gear with the rear wheel train. An annual calendar is a triple calendar that incorporates a program to adjust the date at the end of the month. A perpetual calendar is one that incorporates a program to adjust for leap years. Until the 1940s, triple calendar watches generally required manual adjustment of the month display.
