A decorative technique in which enamel is inlaid with gold or silver foil. It's difficult to find thin foil these days, so it's rare to see new watches with paillonné. Anita Porsche is currently the leading expert in the watch industry, but brands like Jaquet Droz are currently working to recreate the paillonné technique.
