Watch Terminology Dictionary

This watch maison was founded in Pennsylvania, USA in 1892. In addition to producing excellent railroad watches, they also produced timepieces with excellent design, such as the "Piping Rock" (1928). During World War II, they produced approximately 10,000 marine chronometers, and in 1957 they released the world's first battery-powered wristwatch, the "Ventura." In 1970, they released the world's first digital watch, the "Pulsar." They are currently based in Switzerland and are part of the Swatch Group.
