Bronze refers to a brass-based alloy with copper as the main component and tin. It is more corrosion-resistant than copper because an oxide film easily forms on the surface in the natural environment. For this reason, it was once used for ship equipment. Nowadays, more and more manufacturers are using bronze cases to create the appearance of a patina formed as the oxide film progresses.
