Also known as a Breguet hairspring, this is a hairspring that prevents the balance from shifting center by winding the outer end of a normal hairspring inward. As a result, the accuracy of mechanical watches is improved. Since Abraham-Louis Breguet's invention, various high-end movements have adopted a winding hairspring. It is particularly effective for low-frequency movements, but it also has problems such as increasing the thickness of the movement and being expensive.
