[Results Announced] Readers' Choice Watch Ranking: "World Time Watches That Make You Want to Travel"

The "Chronos Top 10 Watches Rankings," a reader-selected ranking, was launched in conjunction with a regular feature in the Japanese edition of Chronos. This time, we will announce the results of a survey conducted on the theme of "World Time Watches that Make You Want to Travel." Now that the long COVID-19 pandemic has passed, what is the No. 1 watch that will inspire you to travel?

The much anticipated results are announced!

　The "Chronos Top 10 Watches Rankings" is a regular feature of the Japanese edition of Chronos. Each judge selects 10 recommended models based on a theme. From these, the top 10 are determined based on the number of votes. The reader rankings are created by having webChronos readers choose their number one from the top 10 and vote for them.

　This time, the theme was "World Time Watches that Make You Want to Travel." World Time Watches are watches that display all 24 time zones simultaneously on a single watch. Many models feature the names of cities around the world or a world map, making them unique designs. They are highly subjective, and not many brands produce them. However, this ranking received many votes and comments.

　Voting results were tallied from December 14th to December 18th, 2023. Models that have improved in rank compared to the judges' rankings are marked with an up arrow, models that have dropped in rank are marked with a down arrow, and models with the same ranking are marked with a right arrow.

The double-sided anti-reflective coated glass provides excellent visibility. It's unobtrusive, so you can wear it with confidence anywhere. The mechanism that moves the hour hand by simply turning the bezel allows for easy reflection. The stopwatch at 12 o'clock can be used as a dual time function. Permanent repairs are available (as part of IWC's after-sales service).

This versatile watch looks great with both jeans and jackets. It's water resistant to 100m, so it's easy to wear. The dial is surprisingly easy to read. You'll hardly ever see anyone else wearing it.

A. Lange & Söhne / Lange 1 Time Zone

-Although asymmetrical, the design is exquisitely balanced and timeless.
- The fact that it maintains the unique and well-balanced design of the Lange 1 while also being able to display world time and yet still have good legibility makes it a fantastic total package.
The ability to easily change the time in a second time zone with a push button, as well as the ability to indicate daylight saving time for both home and local time, are enough to make you want to travel to a country with a time difference just to use these features. It's also practically useful for checking the time during online meetings with Westerners, and even now, when smartphones are a necessity, the ease of switching and checking the second time zone with a push button seems even faster than taking out your smartphone, switching apps, and touching or scrolling the screen. What's more, I like how these features are limited to the addition of a 24-city ring, and are instead integrated into the usual Lange-style dial.
- The second time slot is designed independently, but it is excellent in that it does not overlap at all with the first time slot.
