Omega has a wide variety of collections to meet the needs of a wide range of users. Furthermore, there are many variations within the same collection, so it can be hard to decide which model to buy. To help with this, an Omega public relations representative has personally selected and ranked five of their most popular models.

Omega PR staff selects popular models for their recommendations

　Omega has been producing extremely high-quality luxury watches, backed by the high-level technical and development capabilities it has cultivated over its long history. The quality of these products, which focus on performance and aesthetics, goes without saying, but the brand strategy is also outstanding, earning the brand high recognition and popularity among a wide range of users. Another distinctive feature of Omega is its diverse collections that cater to the needs of various users. With the iconic Speedmaster Moonwatch, which has a historical background as a part of NASA's moon landing project, the Seamaster, which offers excellent performance and a design suitable for everyday wear, and the dressy De Ville, it can be difficult to decide which model is best for you.

　So, this time, we asked an Omega public relations representative to pick out and rank the top five popular models that he personally recommends.

　When it comes to popular models, you might think that only the classics would rank, but we were able to see some surprising results, especially in terms of dial color.

No. 1: Speedmaster Moonwatch

　A spokesperson recommended some popular Omega models, with the Speedmaster Moonwatch coming in at number one.

　When it comes to Omega, many fans will first picture the face of this model. As the name "Moonwatch" suggests, this series was adopted as NASA's official equipment in 1965 and has a long history of being carried on the moon landing and activities both on and off the spacecraft, including the Apollo 11 mission in 69.

　In addition, the hand-wound movement is a descendant of the Cal. 27 CHRO C12, designed by Albert Piguet of Lemania, and the design has remained largely unchanged since the fourth generation model was released in the 1960s, inheriting its iconic design, giving it a character that appeals to watch enthusiasts. Furthermore, the current model is Master Chronometer certified, achieving the high performance that is the standard for modern Omega.

　There are currently two stainless steel Speedmaster Moonwatch models: the Ref. 310.30.42.50.01.001 with a Hesalite crystal and the Ref. 310.30.42.50.01.002 with a sapphire crystal. A spokesperson said that while both models are selling well, the sapphire crystal version is "by far" more popular.

"Customers who are drawn to the Speedmaster's history often choose the Hesalite model, but the most popular are the models with sapphire crystal."

　When we asked the company which model was the most popular, we were told it was the Speedmaster Moonwatch. It's popular with both men and women, and when we interviewed them for this project, all four female staff members were wearing Moonwatches.

　This is a timeless film that can be recommended to people of all ages and genders.

2nd place: Seamaster Diver 300M

　The second watch that an Omega spokesperson recommended was the 42mm Seamaster Diver 300M. Since its 2018 relaunch, the collection has offered high performance as a diver's watch, sophisticated design exemplified by its lustrous ceramic dial and bezel, and a wide variety of dial colors and materials. With such a wide range of models, it's likely that a wide range of users will find their favorite. In fact, the spokesperson said, "Although it's positioned as an entry-level model, it's also being purchased by customers in their 40s and 50s."

　It's clear that the entire collection is popular, but which models are selling the best? The most popular model is the black dial Ref. 210.30.42.20.01.001. The classic black dial is easy to use in a variety of situations, so it's no surprise that it's so popular.

　However, when I asked about the second most popular model after the black dial, I was surprised. The answer was not blue or white, but the green dial Ref. 210.30.42.20.10.001. It's true that in the past few years, the number of models with green dials has increased, not just from Omega. Many of them have vibrant colors, and come in a wide variety of nuanced and deep tones. Still, I couldn't shake the impression that they were "unconventional," so I was surprised to hear that the green dial model was more popular than the blue or white.

"I think this model is more likely to attract customers looking to buy a second or subsequent luxury watch, rather than first-time buyers," a public relations representative analyzed.

　By the way, the third most popular model is the blue dial, which has been a regular model in the lineup since its launch in 2018, but the public relations representative's recommendation is the fourth most popular, the Summer Blue Collection.

　The Summer Blue Collection is the collective name for 11 models released in 2023, marking the 75th anniversary of the Seamaster's birth. These 11 models feature blue dials with varying shades of blue corresponding to their water resistance, achieving a different shade of blue than previous models. The Seamaster Diver 300M features a gradation dial that seems to flow from shallow waters where sunlight still reaches to the deep sea. Combined with the Seamaster Diver 300M's distinctive wave pattern, laser-etched onto the dial, it exudes a unique atmosphere from other models in the collection. Its stylish design makes it a watch you'll want to wear all year round.

3rd Place: Seamaster Diver 300M 007 Edition

　Coming in third place is the Seamaster Diver 300M "007 Edition," also in second place. This special edition was worn by Daniel Craig, who plays James Bond, in the film "No Time to Die," released in October 2021, and was designed with his input.

　While the Seamaster Diver 300M has a strong modern feel, this model features a matte-finished case, a tropical brown aluminum bezel and dial, and vintage-style luminous paint, giving it a classic feel. The titanium material makes it lightweight, which is a major feature despite its bold appearance, and the spokesperson says that users who actually touch the model will be amazed.

"Bond watches remain popular, and the influence of the movies is significant. However, their popularity transcends the influence of the movies and extends to their design. They are also recommended for their comfort (as they are lightweight and made of titanium)."

　The "007 Edition" is available with a mesh bracelet as well as a NATO strap, making it a special edition that can be enjoyed by both movie fans and non-fans alike.

4th place: Seamaster Aqua Terra 41mm

　Coming in fourth place is the 41mm Seamaster Aqua Terra with a blue dial. Unlike the Seamaster Diver 300M, blue is the most popular color in this series.

　Among the Seamaster models, this one does not have a rotating bezel, and in addition, it features a dial design with horizontal lines known as the Teak Concept. Many of the surfaces of the case and bracelet are polished, giving the Seamaster Aqua Terra a dazzling impression, which is one of its characteristics.

　The Seamaster Aqua Terra also comes in a wide variety of sizes, materials, and dial colors. When asked about the next most popular dial colors for men, black and green were the most popular choices.

　The green dial of the Seamaster Aqua Terra, which was added to the collection in 2020, has a different color tone from the green of the Seamaster Diver 300M. Green is an unconventional color tone, but the overall simple design will make it stand out even more when worn under a jacket cuff.

5th place: Seamaster Diver 300M Black Black

　The last model on the list is the Seamaster Diver 300M Black Black, which features a black exterior. This model was released in 2021.

　Since the purpose of this project was to select from popular models, I expected that only basic models would be lined up, so I was a little surprised that this all-black model, which is even more unconventional than the green dial, was selected.

"Popular models include the Seamaster Diver 300M and Seamaster Aqua Terra in different colors (other than the models featured here), but this jet black model stands out," said an Omega spokesperson.

　The color isn't the only thing that makes this watch unique. The ceramic dial features a laser-etched wave pattern, just like the Seamaster Diver 300M we've introduced so far. Furthermore, the bezel of this watch also features a laser-etched matte finish, which doesn't blend in with the dial, achieving both a unique design and readability.
