Frédéric Arnault appointed head of LVMH Group's watch division

In January 2024, it was announced that Frédéric Arnault (29), the third son of French businessman Bernard Arnault, a global leader in the luxury industry and ranked first in the 2024 World's Richest People list, will become head of the LVMH Group's watch division.
Rumors of this appointment had been circulating for weeks before it was officially announced, and it was confirmed in early 2024. At just 29 years old, Frédéric Arnault will become the number two man in the LVMH Watches & Jewelry division, behind Stéphane Bianchi, who is currently the head of the division.
According to a press release from the LVMH Group, Frédéric Arnault will oversee three watch brands: Hublot, TAG Heuer, and Zenith. He has served as CEO of TAG Heuer since 2020.
As a result, Julien Tornare, CEO of Zenith, will become CEO of TAG Heuer, and Benoît de Clercq, who spent most of his career at IWC and Panerai, will become CEO of Zenith. Ricardo Guadalupe, CEO of Hublot, will remain in his current position.
In his new role in the Watches & Jewelry division, Frédéric Arnault's mission will be to "ensure the strong and sustainable growth of pure-play watch brands and strengthen the LVMH Group's role in the watch industry," according to a press release.
LVMH Group is also likely looking to acquire brands to strengthen its position at various price points in the watch market, particularly in the luxury watch sector.
