Laurent Ferrier unveiled the "Classic Moon" as a new model for 2024. This classic model, which returns to the brand's roots, features a moon phase display, a first for the brand, in addition to an annual calendar. Two variations are available: a stainless steel model and an 18K red gold model.

New for 2024: "Classic Moon"
Laurent Ferrier unveiled two new models in the Classic Collection: the Classic Moon, the latest addition for 2024. The classic silhouette features both an annual calendar and, for the first time, a moon phase display.

Manual winding (Cal. LF126.02). 25 jewels. 21,600 vph. Power reserve approximately 80 hours. 18KRG case (diameter 40mm, thickness 12.9mm). Water resistant to 3 ATM. Pin buckle model: 1496 million yen (tax included). Folding clasp model: 1551 million yen (tax included).
Founded in 2010 by the watchmaker of the same name and his son, Laurent Ferrier made a spectacular debut by winning the Best Men's Watch award at the Geneva Grand Prix Watchmaking (GPHG) that year. The two new models feature a redesign of the award-winning "Classic Tourbillon," giving the brand its first-ever moon phase model.

Manual winding (Cal. LF126.02). 25 jewels. 21,600 vph. Power reserve approximately 80 hours. Stainless steel case (diameter 40mm, thickness 12.9mm). Water resistant to 3 bar. Pin buckle model: 13,090,000 yen (tax included). Folding clasp model: 13,365,000 yen (tax included).
Two variations are available: a stainless steel model and an 18K red gold model. Each case features gently curved lines without edges and a polished finish on all sides for a luxurious look. The crown is an elegant ball-shaped design that is both easy to operate, and the silhouette, which has been carefully designed down to the smallest detail, reflects the design characteristics that are characteristic of Laurent Ferrier.

The moon phase function, the focal point of this watch, is located on a large subdial at 6 o'clock, along with the small seconds. The combination of petrol blue enamel and aventurine glass creates a dark blue color, creating a stained-glass-like brilliance on the dial. The craftsmanship required for its creation is essential; the aventurine glass is first carved into the shape of the moon and stars, and then delicately hand-painted to complete the design.

The other feature, the annual calendar, displays the date with a pointer date hand and the month and day of the week in two central windows. It recognizes months with 30 or 31 days and automatically advances to the 1st of the following month as appropriate, ensuring the correct date is displayed with only one adjustment per year on March 1st.
The dials that house these mechanisms have a similar layout, but the two models have completely different impressions. The 18K red gold model features a silver dial with a fine vertical satin finish. The colorful use of colors creates a classic look, and the slender assegai-shaped hour and minute hands and indexes enhance its elegance.

Meanwhile, the stainless steel model features a monochrome rendition of the traditional design, creating a modern impression. The dial features an opaline gray-blue finish, creating a sharp contrast with the white hour and minute hands and indexes. The striking blue of the minute track and pointer date hand also adds a refreshing touch to the dial.

At its heart is the newly developed manual-winding movement, Cal. LF126.02. An improvement on the previous Cal. LF126.01, this movement features a moon phase and annual calendar, as well as an approximately 80-hour power reserve. Adjustments to the various functions are made via flush-fit correctors located between 8 and 9 o'clock, and at 10 o'clock.
The watch's transparent case back allows for a clear view of the movement. Because it's a manual-winding movement without a rotor, you can enjoy the decorations to the fullest. The traditional long-blade ratchet pawl is also a highlight. Furthermore, a power reserve indicator is located on the back, allowing you to check the remaining power while winding the movement.
