Sleek, a Niigata-based watch retailer, has announced a specially ordered "Tag Heuer Carrera Chronograph." The watch's distinctive feature is the refreshing blue dial. The reason for adopting this blue comes from the English idiom "true blue friend." Sleek designed this watch with the intention of making it a confidant for the user.

A sleek, custom-designed "Tag Heuer Carrera Chronograph" from an authorized dealer who loves Tag Heuer.
The TAG Heuer Carrera is a wristwatch that first appeared in 1963. The first Carrera featured a dial with a scale on the inside cover and excellent visibility. It was a suitable watch for motorsport racers who check their watches while driving.

The name of this model is also taken from a car race. It originates from the "Carrera Panamericana Mexico," a car race that was once held in Mexico. The race took five days to cross Mexico's vast terrain, from north to south, with its varied terrain, including flatlands and mountainous regions. Due to the harsh natural environment of the course, it was known as the most grueling race in the world. Jack Heuer, president of TAG Heuer at the time, was so impressed by this race that he chose "Carrera" as the name of the model.
Now, a Japan-only edition of the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph has been released. This is a limited edition from Sleek, a watch retailer that continues to stock TAG Heuer. Sleek is an authorized watch retailer based in Niigata with stores in Miyagi, Saitama, and Osaka. The store has an extraordinary passion for stocking TAG Heuer watches.
A blue dial that embodies the sentiment of "allies"
One notable feature of this model is the use of a pale blue that Sleek calls "true blue" on the dial, crown, and chronograph second hand. This blue was chosen from Sleek's corporate colors, but that's not the only reason for its selection.

There is an English idiom called "true-blue." It means "loyal, trustworthy," and a "true-blue friend" is used to describe a close friend. The "true-blue" color was adopted with the hope that "this watch will become a close friend to the user."
One of the most interesting features of this watch is the circle placed under the index. When we asked Sleek about the reason for this circle's existence, they told us that it was included as one of the ways to create a watch that would highlight the "True Blue." Sleek designed this watch, including the color scheme, to highlight the "True Blue" that they put their heart and soul into.

The dial finish is also noteworthy. It has a deliberately roughened matte texture. If the dial is shiny, light can reflect off it, making it difficult to read the time. However, with a matte dial, there is no need to worry about this.
Sleek has a track record of handling TAG Heuer as an authorized dealer, and the aesthetic sense they have cultivated over that time has likely made the design of this piece possible.
Equipped with the in-house developed bidirectional winding movement Cal. TH20-00
It's also worth noting that this watch is equipped with the Caliber TH20-00, a chronograph movement developed and manufactured in-house. Carol Cazapi, TAG Heuer's movement director, made improvements to the rotor winding method and some of the tooth profiles of this movement. The automatic rotor is bidirectional and boasts a practical power reserve of approximately 80 hours. The base movement, the Caliber Heuer 02, was unidirectional, but this has been changed to a bidirectional winding system. The Caliber Heuer 02 is also a chronograph movement developed and manufactured in-house, and the Caliber TH20-00 is an improved version of it.

The regular TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph model equipped with Caliber TH20-00 features a tachymeter inside a box-shaped sapphire crystal crystal and a raised bezel ring, reminiscent of the original Carrera.
However, this sleek custom model features a black ceramic bezel, allowing you to enjoy a case and movement combination not found in the regular model.
This watch, with its understated color scheme, is suitable for any occasion, including everyday use. It can be worn with care, like a close friend who is always by your side. It's a shame that only 100 pieces are available.

Automatic movement (Cal. TH20-00). 28,800 vph. Power reserve: approximately 80 hours. Stainless steel case (44mm diameter). Water resistant to 100m. Limited to 100 pieces in Japan. Price: 841,500 yen (tax included).
