"Oceanus" debuted in 2004. Named after "Oceanos," the god of the sea in Greek mythology, it is a popular series of elegant solar-powered radio-controlled watches.
Among these Oceanus models, the Ref. OCW-SG1000ZE is one of the "Zero to One" models released in October 2024 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Casio's watch business. "Zero to One" is a commemorative model that embodies the company's development philosophy of "creating one from zero," inherited from Toshio Kashio, one of the founding family of Casio Computer Co., Ltd. Special models were released under a common design code from six brands: BABY-G, Oceanus, G-SHOCK, Casiotron, Edifice, and Pro Trek.
For this reason, this model also features a unified black and gold design, which is unusual for an Oceanus. However, its greatest highlight is the newly developed solar cell called Gallium Tough Solar.
