Introducing masterpieces of rosary beads that combine high levels of technical skill and design

Bulgari is a prestigious jeweler founded in Rome, Italy in 1884. The company is now focusing not only on jewelry but also on watches, and its presence rivals that of specialized brands. Its particular specialty is thin watches, which require high levels of technical skill in manufacturing and assembly. The company continues to challenge the limits of thin watches by incorporating numerous complex mechanisms, and its success in breaking world records year after year demonstrates the company's passion for technology and research and development. What would Bulgari recommend, given the company's many iconic, innovative watches, including these thin models?

Bvlgari "Octo Finissimo" Ref. 102713

Bvlgari Octo Finissimo

Bvlgari "Octo Finissimo" Ref. 102713
This ultra-thin watch features a micro-rotor automatic movement, measuring just 2.23mm thick. The case, bracelet, dial, crown, and other exterior components are made of titanium. Automatic (Cal. BVL138). 31 jewels. 21,600 vph. Power reserve: approximately 60 hours. Ti case (40mm diameter, 5.15mm thick). Water resistant to 30m. Price: 2,486,000 yen (tax included).

This model set the world record for the thinnest automatic watch in 2017. While thin watches up until that point had generally been delicate and required careful handling, this model was revolutionary in that it was practical enough to be worn as a daily watch.

The sandblasted dial features bar indexes and Arabic numerals, and an offset small second hand creates a simple yet dynamic layout. The titanium case, just 5.15mm thick, is given a three-dimensional shape by facet cutting, creating a natural flowing line to the bracelet. The crown top is set with ceramic.

Bvlgari "Octo Finissimo" Ref. 103431

Bvlgari Octo Finissimo Automatic

Bvlgari "Octo Finissimo Automatic" Ref. 103431
This stainless steel case model features a blue sun-brushed dial that gives it an elegant look. It's slightly thicker than the titanium case model, but its water resistance has been upgraded to 100m. Automatic (Cal. BVL138). 31 jewels. 21,600 vph. Power reserve of approximately 60 hours. Stainless steel case (diameter 40mm, thickness 6.4mm). Water resistant to 100m. Price: 2,112,000 yen (tax included).

This is a stainless steel case variation of the aforementioned Ref. 102713. The satin-polished case and bracelet, along with the sun-brushed blue dial, give it a slightly different look from the titanium case model. At 6.4mm thick, the stainless steel case model is slightly thicker, but still quite thin. The different case specifications improve water resistance to 100m.

The case back is see-through, just like the titanium case model, allowing you to view the internal movement. Cal. BVL138 is an ultra-thin automatic movement with a platinum micro-rotor, and you can enjoy the striped decorations and chamfers on the bridges, the movement of the balance wheel, and more.

Bulgari's automatic movement, Cal. BVL138, is equipped with a micro-rotor. The wide baseplate allows for the automatic winding mechanism to be incorporated effortlessly, and the design of this movement contributes to the slimness of the Octo.

Comments from Bvlgari (Ref. 102713 & Ref. 103431)

These two collections are among the representative models of the Octo saga, equipped with the automatic movement Cal. BVL138, which was recorded as the world's thinnest in 2017, and are recommended because they meet the needs of each material, titanium and stainless steel, and their unique characteristics.

Bvlgari "Octo Finissimo Carbon Gold" Ref. 103779

Bvlgari's new Octo

Bvlgari "Octo Finissimo Carbon Gold" Ref. 103779
This carbon case model features a gorgeous black and gold color scheme. The movement bridge is gold, making it a truly eye-catching piece. Automatic (Cal. BVL138). 31 jewels. 21,600 vph. Power reserve of approximately 60 hours. Titanium and carbon case (40mm diameter, 6.9mm thick). Water resistant to 100m. Price: 4,224,000 yen (tax included).

Based on the simple Octo Finissimo, this unique model uses carbon fiber for the exterior. The use of carbon fiber not only on the case and bracelet, but also on the dial creates a sense of unity in the design (the middle case is made of titanium). In addition to the marbled pattern unique to carbon fiber, the use of pink gold colored hands and indexes and an 18K pink gold crown adds a touch of elegance.

The movement is also a must-see. The gold bridge and gold-plated platinum micro-rotor can be seen through the see-through case back.

Bvlgari's new Octo Finissimo

The Caliber BVL138 features a gorgeous gold color. This model was released in 2023, and the Octo Finissimo Carbon Gold Perpetual Calendar Ref. 103778, which is equipped with a perpetual calendar, was also released at the same time.

The case is 6.9mm thick and is water resistant to 100m. Combined with the lightweight nature of carbon, it is also suitable for everyday use.

Comment from Bvlgari

The Octo Finissimo carbon model is part of a wide range of materials, including stainless steel and titanium. The combination of lightweight and luxurious carbon fiber and pink gold embodies Bulgari's aesthetic. The movement, Cal. BVL138, also features a pink gold case back.

Bvlgari "Bvlgari Bvlgari" Ref. 103968

BVLGARI BVLGARI New Release

Bvlgari "Bvlgari Bvlgari" Ref. 103968
This round-cased dress watch is representative of Bulgari. Its thin case, despite being equipped with an automatic movement, emphasizes its elegance. Automatic (Cal. BVL191). 28,800 vph. Power reserve of approximately 42 hours. 18KPG case (38mm diameter, 8.75mm thick). Water resistant to 50m. Price: 2,068,000 yen (tax included).

The Bulgari Bulgari collection has its roots in the Bulgari Roma, a digital watch originally produced as a gift for Bulgari's top clients. Featuring lugs that extend straight from the cylindrical case and a double logo engraved on the bezel, the Bulgari Bulgari collection is gaining popularity as a dressy collection.

This model combines a white opaline dial with an 18K pink gold case, creating a soft impression. A date display is placed at the 3 o'clock position, ensuring practicality as a daily watch.

The movement can be viewed through the see-through case back. It is equipped with the Cal. BVL191, a thin movement with a switching rocker automatic winding mechanism.

The Cal. BVL191 has been in use since 2012. It has also been installed in the Octo Roma.

Comment from Bvlgari

This is the latest release from BVLGARI BVLGARI, which began production in 1977. The 14 letters of the names of successive emperors are engraved on the bezel, just like the names depicted on ancient coins.

Bvlgari "Bvlgari Aluminum Chronograph" Ref. 103868

Bvlgari "Bvlgari Aluminum Chronograph" Ref. 103868
This epoch-making sports watch features an aluminum case. The rubber strap and bezel give it a sporty look, while still retaining the elegance that's so characteristic of Bvlgari. Automatic movement. Power reserve of approximately 42 hours. Aluminum case (41mm diameter). Water resistant to 100m. Price: 737,000 yen (tax included).

Aluminum is rarely used as a watch case material. The Bvlgari Aluminum is a luxury sports watch created using this material. The rubber strap on this model makes it comfortable to wear, and the chronograph adds an even sportier touch.

The wide rubber bezel makes the dial slightly smaller than the diameter of the case, resulting in a sense of compactness among the three subdials. The neat dial and design balance are typical of Bulgari, a world-renowned, long-established jewelry brand. The crown and case back are made of titanium.

Bvlgari's comment

Since its launch in 1998, Bvlgari Aluminum has been released in a variety of styles. Limited edition models have also been developed, and this year's limited edition model in collaboration with Fender® has been a hot topic. This watch won the Best of the Best award at the 2023 Red Dot Design Awards.
