The show features deep and passionate discussions with watch-loving guests. Through stories about their encounters with watches and their favorite watches, the show unravels the personalities and life stories of the guests.
This time we will be introducing an after-talk filmed after the episode featuring the second generation Onoe Ukon, a Kabuki actor who is making waves in the industry.
Onoe Ukon owns two watches: a Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711 and a Panerai Luminor Base PAM00112. The Nautilus was the watch of his dreams as a teenager, and it was actually the first watch he ever bought. His father, Kiyomoto Enjudayu VII, also owned one, but the competitive Ukon was so annoyed when his father said, "I'll give it to you when I die," that he thought, "I'll buy it for you!"
The Panerai is a memorable item that was given to Ukon as a gift from his master, Onoe Kikugoro VII, and he received it on his 20th birthday. Ukon says that through this watch he sensed a message from his master: "Go wild in your twenties."
Ukon, inspired by his great-grandfather, the VI Onoe Kikugoro, plunged into the world of Kabuki. Editor-in-Chief Hirota felt there was a connection between Ukon's dedication to the world of Kabuki and his fascination with the pinnacle of wristwatches, the Nautilus, and his single-minded pursuit of it. So what watch did he recommend to Ukon?
