An iconic new model that retains the brilliance of the "62GS"
Grand Seiko's Heritage Collection includes a lineup of popular models that follow the design codes of the "62GS." The 62GS was Grand Seiko's first automatic watch, released in 1967, and is a milestone for the brand. The new models also feature the Zaratsu finish, which could be said to be a defining feature of the brand's identity.
The 24 solar terms are a way of dividing the seasons that has long been familiar to Japanese people. Grand Seiko watches inspired by the 62GS already have models themed around the 24 solar terms. In 2025, the company announced a revamped version of the first summer and autumnal equinox models. The biggest change is the use of Ever Brilliant Steel, a proprietary alloy, for the case.

Automatic movement (Cal. 9S85). 37 jewels. 36,000 vph. Power reserve approximately 55 hours. Everbrilliant steel case (diameter 40mm, thickness 12.9mm). Water resistant to 10 bar. 990,000 yen (tax included).
Everbrilliant Steel is a highly corrosion-resistant material with a lustrous white finish. Its use on the case is finished with Grand Seiko's signature Zaratsu polishing technique. This enhances the edges and surfaces of the 40mm diameter, 12.9mm thick case. This watch is water resistant to 100m and has a magnetic resistance of 4800A or more.
A fascinating dial inspired by two seasons

As is typical of Grand Seiko, the dial used in this model is elaborate. Its design evokes a distinctly Japanese feel. The Ref. SBGH351 is themed around the beginning of summer, which marks the transition from spring to summer. The deep green with a delicate texture seems to reflect the Japanese landscape as summer approaches.

The other, Ref. SBGH353, is inspired by the autumnal equinox. The deep blue symbolizes the night sky. The GS logo and the gold second hand are reminiscent of moonlight. Like the Ref. SBGH351, it also features a date display at 3 o'clock.
High-frequency in-house movement

The movement used in this watch is the Cal. 9S85, a high-frequency movement that boasts a power reserve of approximately 55 hours and maintains a static accuracy of +5 to -3 seconds per day. The high-quality finish applied to the movement can be viewed through the see-through case back.
