He is currently receiving rave reviews for his performance in the 2025 Taiga drama "Berabou - Tsutaju Eika no Yumebanashi"
The year 2025 marks the 100th anniversary of the start of radio broadcasting, a milestone year for the Japanese broadcasting industry. NHK's taiga drama, which will be aired in 2025, will portray Tsutaya Juzaburo, a media mogul who became a darling of the time during the Edo period.
Yamaji Kazuhiro plays Ogiya Uemon, the owner of a brothel. He himself goes by the pen name Bokuga, and teaches the prostitutes waka poetry and calligraphy, raising them to become famous courtesans. Along with the star-studded cast, which includes Yokohama Ryusei, Koshiba Fuka, Watanabe Ken, Ikuta Toma, and Adachi Yumi, Yamaji exudes a more mature charm and presence in the film.
A voice actor and narrator with a great voice quality
Kazuhiro Yamaji is also known for his captivating voice. He is the Japanese voice actor for British actor Jason Statham, and has also worked on dubbing for many other actors, including Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Al Pacino, and Sean Penn.
In particular, Jason Statham's voice is said to be similar to his, and he is widely recognized by the public, to the point that it has been described as "as if he were speaking Japanese himself."
Yamaji also narrates the anime "Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V" and a BS travel program. His wife is the famous actress and voice actress Romi Park, with whom he has also co-starred in the "Yakuza" video game series. Although there is an 18-year age difference between him and Romi Park, it seems the couple first met through "Attack on Titan." They have been blessed by anime fans and have built a relationship based on mutual respect.

Yamaji Kazuhiro can be seen wearing "Minase" on his official X. The image above was posted on June 30, 2023, on the opening day of the stage play "Holy Sword - A Man Abandoned by Luck," in which Yamaji Kazuhiro plays Miyamoto Musashi.
Even in his casual attire, he exudes an extraordinary aura, and fans have been leaving warm comments such as, "He's as handsome as ever! Yamaji-san is the best!" and "It's finally here...! Good luck on the first day."
Minase is a Japanese brand that prides itself on its outstanding technical capabilities as a case manufacturer, with the belief that it will "make watches that will still be talked about 100 years from now." Craftsmen hone their skills every day to realize the ideal watchmaking, incorporating ingenuity into every aspect. 2025 will mark the 20th anniversary of the brand's founding, and the brand continues to create innovative watches, carrying on its original desire to create watches that move the heart.
It is highly likely to be the Minase "Five Windows" Ref. VM03-M03SB
The watch worn by Kazuhiro Yamaji is likely to be a Minase HiZ series "Five Windows." The HiZ series means "excellence," and features a unique case-in-case structure that reconstructs the way the case, dial, and movement are displayed.

Automatic winding. (Cal. KT7001/ETA2824 SW200 base). 21 jewels. 28,800 vph. Power reserve approximately 42 hours. Stainless steel case (38.0mm wide, 46.5mm long, 14.0mm thick). Water resistant to 5 bar. Price: 594,000 yen (tax included).
It is also worth noting that the Zaratsu polishing applied to every part gives off a clear shine. As a watch that Japan is sending out to the world, this collection is filled with the desire to be a brand that is not afraid of challenges and leads the way in Japanese manufacturing and aesthetic sense.
The collection includes the Divide, Horizon, Seven Windows, Mid Size, and Five Windows models, and the model worn is likely the Five Windows model, which has five sapphire crystal faces.
The Seven Windows watch has a similar appearance, but it also has a sapphire crystal on the top side of the case. The Five Windows, on the other hand, does not have a sapphire crystal. Looking at other photos of Kazuhiro Yamaji wearing this watch, such as the artist photo, we can guess that it is this model, as the top side of the case is solid.
MINASE began as a tool manufacturer, and even the smallest surfaces are polished with Zaratsu polishing. Five windows on the crystal, case back, and side of the case allow you to feel the overwhelming three-dimensionality of the dial. The world seen through the five sapphire crystals is reminiscent of a Japanese garden viewed through a snow-viewing shoji screen or a circular window. As you wear the watch, you will be able to enjoy its unique worldview, which changes its appearance depending on the situation.
A man with a patina of charm is sure to suit a patina of watchmaking. Yamaji Kazuhiro is currently preparing for his role in "The Tale of the Heike: Kocho no Higiri" (The Butterfly's Slash), which will be released in March 2025. We'll be keeping an eye on his future endeavors.
