Introducing masterpieces recommended by a PR representative from a talented brand founded in 1884
Edox's history began when Swiss watchmaker Christian Ruefli-Fleury gave his wife a pocket watch he designed as a birthday gift in 1884. The company's name comes from the ancient Greek word for "hour."
The company has developed groundbreaking, high-quality practical watches, such as the waterproof "Delphin" released in 1961, the 500m waterproof diver's watch "Hydro-Sub" released in 1965, and the dressy "Bluebird" that was both shock-resistant and waterproof released in 1969, and this attitude has not changed even today. The lineup includes models with proven practicality, from full-scale diver's watches to chronograph watches for motorsports and elegant skeleton watches.
This time, we would like to introduce five models from the company's collection that Mr. Suzuki, a public relations officer and watch enthusiast, particularly recommends, along with his comments.
"Chrono Offshore 1 Bezel Lock Chronograph Automatic" Ref. 01128-37GNRCA-GNR

This model features a bezel lock mechanism for increased safety during diving. The gold accents throughout give it a glamorous look. Automatic movement (Cal. EDOX011). 25 jewels. 28,800 vph. Power reserve of approximately 48 hours. Stainless steel and gray PVD case (45mm diameter, 16mm thick). Water resistant to 500m. Price: 660,000 yen (tax included).
The Chrono Offshore 1 is a high-spec sports watch that embodies the world of powerboat racing. This model is a diver's chronograph watch with a bezel lock function that will be included in the lineup from 2024. The gray dial is combined with a stainless steel case with gray PVD coating, creating a chic overall color scheme, while gold accents throughout add a touch of elegance.
It also boasts excellent functionality, including a 500m water resistance with a helium escape valve and a scratch-resistant ceramic bezel. This model also features the brand's first bezel lock mechanism, which can be locked by sliding the mechanism at the 9 o'clock position.
The see-through case back also allows you to view the automatic mechanical movement.
Comment from a public relations representative
Edox's flagship Chrono Offshore 1 collection is available in both mechanical and quartz movements, and this latest model (released in November 2024) is the fifth generation of the collection, equipped with a mechanical movement. This professional-grade diver's watch was developed in collaboration with the Ananta Expedition 2 polar exploration project for the purpose of environmental conservation.
The reason we recommend it is because it combines a high level of security and coolness!

First of all, the reason it gives you a sense of security is that it is designed with polar diving in mind, and has a proven track record of being used in projects as a "life-saving tool." The brand's first ever bezel lock mechanism allows you to adjust the bezel's forward rotation by sliding the lever at 9 o'clock on the side of the case, and this is actually an essential function for polar diving.
Polar dives are physically and environmentally demanding, making each dive extremely important. The bezel's anti-reverse rotation function ensures that the remaining oxygen is not overestimated, and it must also be prevented from accidentally rotating forward, which could lead to an underestimation and the need to surface earlier than expected. The bezel lock function plays an important role in ensuring that each dive is completed to the very limit of time, maximizing the opportunity to complete the mission.
Of course, if you ask me whether it's essential for everyday life, the answer is no. But then again, a wristwatch isn't essential either (a smartphone is enough to tell the time)...finding reasons to enjoy something that isn't essential is what makes it a luxury item. There's something romantic about this bezel lock feature, too, as it's actually used as a tool by real professional divers in polar regions. For example, you could lock the bezel with a click when you want to concentrate...it's good for owners to find ways to enjoy it for themselves.
And the reason this watch is so cool is its color. The Chrono Offshore 1 Bezel Lock Chronograph Automatic comes in four colors, but my favorite is this gray and gold model. The color of the movement, especially the rotor, visible through the see-through back, matches perfectly with the exterior, creating a sense of unity (also, personally, I love monotone colors like black and gray, and I prefer gold-colored watches, haha).
"Chrono Offshore 1 Chronograph Japan Limited Edition" Ref. 10242-NGMCAS-NDGM

This Japan-exclusive model features an easy-to-use quartz movement. Despite its impressive size, the lightweight titanium case ensures ease of handling. Quartz movement. Ti + black PVD case (45mm diameter, 15.5mm thick). 1000m water resistant. Japan-exclusive. 297,000 yen (tax included).
This Japan-exclusive diver's chronograph watch boasts an incredible water resistance of 1000m. Its dial, case, and rubber strap all feature a cool, all-black color scheme. Five round-cut black diamonds are set into the Arabic numerals at 1 o'clock.
Despite its large size, the lightweight titanium case reduces strain on the wrist when worn. Titanium is also highly corrosion-resistant, making it safe for underwater diving. A helium escape valve at the 9 o'clock position makes it suitable for saturation diving. Furthermore, the unidirectional rotating bezel is made of highly durable ceramic, making it scratch-resistant even when rubbed against diving equipment or rocks. Another attractive feature is the quartz movement, eliminating the need for frequent time adjustments.

This is the quartz model of the "Chrono Offshore 1," a Japan-only model released in July 2024. It was also one of the most popular models of 2024.
The reason we recommend it is its appealing coloring and outstanding waterproof performance.
The all-black color, inspired by the pitch black darkness 1000 meters below the ocean floor, is something every man has dreamed of at least once. I love black myself, and my home furniture and clothing are almost all black. I once saw someone wearing this watch on the train, and the large 45mm case was completely black, making it a very eye-catching piece.
And, as is now commonplace for Edox, this watch is water resistant to 1000m. So, when washing your hands, you don't have to worry about getting your watch wet. Plus, the titanium case makes it incredibly light. Another appealing feature is the ease with which you can wear it at leisure, such as at the beach.
"Neptunian Automatic" Ref.80120-3NM-NIN

Despite its simple design, this model boasts water resistance of 1000m. The case back is engraved with the image of Neptune, from which the collection is named. Automatic winding (Cal. EDOX80). 26 jewels. 28,800 vph. Power reserve of approximately 38 hours. Stainless steel case (diameter 44mm, thickness 15.6mm). Water resistance to 1000m. Price: 286,000 yen (tax included).
This authentic diver's watch is named after Neptune, the Roman god of the sea. Its clean dial complements a variety of outfits and occasions. The indices and hands are coated with high-grade Super-LumiNova X1 for excellent visibility, even in the dark. The sapphire crystal covering the dial is 3mm thick, helping ensure the watch is water resistant to 1000m.
The 44mm diameter stainless steel case is equipped with a sturdy crown guard and a helium escape valve at 9 o'clock. The bezel, which has a unidirectional rotation prevention mechanism, is inserted with a highly scratch-resistant ceramic ring.
The movement is the automatic mechanical Cal. EDOX 80. Because it has a solid case back, it cannot be seen, but instead, the brave image of Neptune is engraved on the case back.

The Neptunian collection of authentic three-hand diver's watches was inspired by the mythical god of the sea, Neptune. This particular model features a black dial and stainless steel bracelet. It is also the most popular model in the Neptunian series.
The reason we recommend this watch is, once again, the peace of mind of being waterproof to 1000m and the fact that it can be worn in business situations.
In everyday life, I don't think there's much difference between 300m, 500m, or 1000m of water resistance. However, the impact of the numbers is completely different. The sense of security that comes from knowing that "this watch can withstand diving to four digits" is sure to lead to an attachment to the watch.
The reason we chose this model among the many variations of the Neptunian is because of its dial design, which is not too flashy even in business settings. The classic and intellectual black color, combined with bar indexes, creates a moderately dressy look without being too sporty, even though it is a diver's watch.
Neptunian Grande Reserve Date Automatic, Ref. 80801-3NRM-NIR

This model is equipped with a movement based on the Caliber G100 made by La Joux-Perret. The case is relatively thin for a diver's watch, making it suitable for everyday use around town. Automatic (Caliber EDOX808). Power reserve of approximately 68 hours. Stainless steel case (diameter 42mm, thickness 12.3mm). Water resistant to 300m. Price: 352,000 yen (tax included).
This diver's watch, part of the Neptunian collection, is perfect for everyday use. Its sleek 42mm diameter and 12.3mm thickness make it water resistant to 300m. While primarily black, the gold-tone indices, hands, and bezel edges give it a touch of elegance.
The three-link stainless steel bracelet features polished central links for an elegant look, and the bi-fold clasp is equipped with a micro-adjustment mechanism for easy adjustment of the wrist size.
The Cal. 808 movement is a mechanical automatic movement based on the La Joux-Perret Cal. G100, and has a practical power reserve of approximately 68 hours.

This is a model from the Neptunian Collection's spin-off series, the Neptunian Grande Reserve, that we would particularly recommend.
The reason is good balance.
The 1000m water-resistant Neptunian mentioned above boasts impressive water resistance, but its case diameter is a solid 44mm and its power reserve is a standard 40 hours. This model, on the other hand, maintains water resistance to 300m while having a smaller case diameter of 42mm. In addition to being thinner, the new movement achieves a power reserve of approximately 68 hours. It's a more comfortable size for those with slimmer wrists, and even if you let your watch rest over the weekend, it'll still be running on Monday. It's the perfect diver's watch for all your needs.
"Delphin Original Meccano Automatic" Ref.85303-357RN-NRN

The Delphine features a distinctive skeleton dial. The sporty design of the case is finished with pink gold PVD, giving it a luxurious impression. Automatic movement (Cal. EDOX853). 25 jewels. 28,800 vph. Power reserve of approximately 42 hours. Stainless steel and pink gold PVD case (diameter 43mm, thickness 12.5mm). Water resistant to 200m. Price: 346,500 yen (tax included).
The Delphine, launched in 1961, is a waterproof watch that symbolizes Edox's history, achieving 200m water resistance by adopting a "double O-ring," a revolutionary waterproofing mechanism at the time. This model, which inherits the name, is not only highly waterproof, but also a skeleton watch characterized by a bold openwork design.
The dial features an openwork design based on the brand's emblem, an hourglass, revealing the internal mechanism, allowing the wearer to fully enjoy the mechanisms unique to mechanical watches, such as the mainspring, balance wheel, and gears.
The stainless steel case with pink gold PVD coating features a sporty design, including a faceted bezel and lugs that seamlessly connect to the rubber strap.
Comment from a public relations representative
The reason we recommend this model is that it has a luxurious feel while also offering the structural beauty of modern architecture.
The case, bezel, indexes, and hands are made of luxurious and elegant pink gold PVD.
The multifaceted 12-sided bezel and the skeleton dial with its linearly symmetrical framework give a sense of satisfaction with the structure itself, as if looking at a work of modern art or architecture.
In fact, Edox first adopted the concept of "THE WATER CHAMPION" and began to seriously pursue diver's watches with the completion of the first Delphine in 1961. This model also has a skeleton design on both the front and back, yet is worthy of the Delphine name by providing 200m water resistance.
