Already a big name? Why does Oniyatsu Tsubaki love a cheap Casio watch that costs 3300 yen?

Tsubaki Oniyatsu has a career spanning over 26 years as a comedian. A graduate of the 4th class of Tokyo NSC, she has also appeared as an actress in popular dramas such as "Kaasan no Mitazono," "Grand Maison Tokyo," "#ColdGame," and "Miss Target." The watch on this "Nakke-san"'s wrist is an extremely simple, inexpensive Casio. Her natural choice of watch reveals her multifaceted charm and transitions as a former resident of Daikanyama, Shibuya Ward, and an avid pachinko fan. While she has an aesthetic sensibility that knows luxury brands, the 3300 yen watch she chose embodies a sophisticated esprit that captivates people of all ages.

A popular guy with a charming friendliness. His circle of friends extends from fellow comedians to fans.

Tsubaki Oniyatsu is a beloved older sister figure. Her Instagram is filled with casual shots of her with fellow comedians, complete with her innocent smile. Since marrying Sato Dai of the comedy trio Grunge in 2015, she has posted many photos of the couple together, and it's heartwarming to see how close they remain even after their 10th wedding anniversary.

Tsubaki Oniyatsu originally lived a wealthy life in Daikanyama, Shibuya Ward, but her lifestyle changed dramatically when the bubble burst. Her father lost a lot of money in the stock market and sold their apartment to pay off his debts, and her parents later divorced.

When Tsubaki Oniyatsu was 20 years old, she left home with her mother and younger brother and moved to Hiyoshi, Yokohama. She continued her student life while working part-time, and after working as an internet cafe clerk, she was offered a full-time position by a friend who was the daughter of the president of a pet food import and sales company.

The reason he started impersonating people and doing stand-up comedy was because he felt it was just a hobby

When she was working as an office lady, she wanted to "add some color to her office lady life" and went to fitness clubs and English conversation schools, but when she got bored of those, the aforementioned friend happened to come across an article about Yoshimoto Kogyo's comedian training school in the monthly qualification school information magazine "Keiko to Manabu" (published by Recruit), and after being recommended it, she decided to seriously pursue a career as an entertainer.

He is known to be such a pachinko fan that he is usually at a pachinko parlor on his days off, and one of his current regular appearances on TV is "Slot Pachi TV" (TV Kanagawa, TV Saitama, Aomori Asahi Broadcasting).

He is affectionately referred to as "Slave-san" or "Slave-san" by those around him, regardless of whether they are older or younger than him, and is known to be called this by his senior, Downtown's Matsumoto Hitoshi.

Familiar with digital numbers? Express your playfulness with cheap Casio watches

In one of Tsubaki Oniyatsu's Instagram posts, she was spotted wearing a watch.

The comment on the shot, posted on August 27, 2022, reads, "Tonight at 8pm, it's the first anniversary of the Home Gourmet Journey! Today marks the 10th prefecture, and we'll be enjoying the cuisine of Chiba Prefecture!" The hashtag reveals that this photo was taken during the filming of the Okinawa Prefecture edition. Her dyed red hair gives off a cute impression.

This is a standard model of a cheap Casio, characterized by a simple and classic design that goes with any outfit. The length of the band can be easily adjusted by the wearer, so it seems like it could be shared by a couple (although in the case of Tsubaki Oniyatsu and her husband, the husband is larger, so it may be used as his own watch rather than a shared one). The bezel design, reminiscent of the Showa era, is fresh today and exudes a playful adult spirit.

The reason why Cheap Casio watches are highly rated by famous stylists, models, and other people in the fashion industry is probably because of their practicality, focusing on the bare essentials, and their clean design. There is also a wide lineup, and it is easy to enjoy different materials and colors.

Tsubaki Oniyatsu has an eye for luxury watches. She chooses casual and practical watches for everyday use.

In posts on X (formerly Twitter), it can be seen that Tsubaki Oniyatsu wears different brands of clothing depending on the type of work she does, and it is clear that she pays a lot of attention to what she wears. So, even in her eyes, cheap Casio watches must have looked attractive.

Casio Watch

Casio "Casio Collection" Ref.LA670WA-1A2JF
Quartz movement. Resin case (30.3mm long, 24.6mm wide, 7.3mm thick). Water resistant for everyday use. Price: 3300 yen (tax included).

In a previous episode of the TV show "Matsuko & Ariyoshi Karisome Tengoku," she and her husband, Sato Dai, went to Ginza to try on luxury watch shops. They looked at models with complex mechanisms such as tourbillons and retrograde movements from brands like Jaeger-LeCoultre, Van Cleef & Arpels, and Seiko. It's interesting that, even though it was just for a TV show, she chose a cheap Casio after such an experience.

The model worn by Tsubaki Oniyatsu, Ref. LA670WA-1A2JF, is equipped with a stopwatch, timer, alarm, and calendar functions, weighs just 26g, and has a metal band with a free-fitting clasp. The case measures 30.3mm long and 24.6mm wide. This modest size enhances the vintage feel.

It can also be seen on Instagram that she owns an Apple Watch Ultra, so it seems that Tsubaki Oniyatsu is a digital lover. As mentioned above, she is a big pachinko fan, so we speculate that she intuitively prefers digital numbers to analog dials.

Tsubaki Oniyū's natural, unpretentious style seems to be reflected in her choice of watch.
