A 25mm case model added to the Tissot PRX line
The Tissot PRX is a signature collection from Tissot, launched in 2021. Modeled after the PRX, the company's 1978 model, the PRX features a fused case and bracelet. The case and bracelet have sharp edges and a brushed finish, with polished edges and other areas accentuated, lending the watch a luxury sports watch aesthetic. The "luxury sports" style, which began with the introduction of the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak in 1972, has since grown into a major genre in the watch industry. While many of the more well-known luxury sports models are in the high price range, Tissot has maintained the PRX's appeal by offering it at an affordable price while maintaining the same style, thereby establishing a unique position within the genre and garnering popularity.
The popularity of the Tissot PRX is reflected in its wide variety of options. Since its release, new models have been added to the collection throughout the year, offering a wide variety of sizes, colors, and movements. The model we will be reviewing today is a new Tissot PRX model released in November 2024.

Quartz movement. Stainless steel case (25mm diameter, 9.05mm thick). Water resistant to 100m. Price: 308,000 yen (tax included).
Previously, Tissot PRX models were available in 40mm or 35mm diameters, but this is their first 25mm diameter model, and five different models were released at the same time. Of these five, we'll be taking a look at the details of one model with a gold-colored PVD case and bracelet, named "Nude Carnation Gold," while wearing it.
Your eyes will be glued to the “nude carnation gold” color exterior!

My first impression of this watch was "gorgeous." The case and bracelet, finished in PVD in the elegantly named "Nude Carnation Gold," make an unexpected statement when worn under a blouse or sweater cuff. Pink and reddish gold colors are often used in accessories, and I own some myself, but wearing the entire watch in this color was a revelation, as it's not particularly large, yet makes a strong statement (in a positive sense, of course). The polished edges of the case sides and bracelet, which sparkle in the light, also contribute to its strong presence.

The technique of using separate polished and satin finishes on the exterior is one of the hallmarks of the "luxury sports" style, and in the past, this high-quality finish was limited to literally "luxury" models. However, in recent years, with the development of machining techniques, this type of finish can now be found even in basic price range models. Tissot, a brand in an affordable price range, also specializes in this type of finish. Although the degree and design of "separate finishes" vary depending on the brand, this model achieves a luxurious finish by using a delicate hairline finish as its base and polishing the edges, which is a difficult finish. Incidentally, the absence of distortion in the polished surface is also noteworthy, as it has been carefully polished. Of course, we are not comparing this to models costing hundreds of thousands to over 1 million yen, but considering the retail price of 85,800 yen (tax included), the quality is at a high level.

Although "luxury sports" has become a major genre, there are very few options for women, especially in the sub-10 yen price range (there is a 35mm Tissot PRX model with a feminine colored dial, but it would be classified as a boys' size). This watch, which offers a taste of the "luxury sports" style, yet with a feminine size and gorgeous coloring, and all at a reasonable price, is a rare find. In the watch industry, "pioneer" is often mentioned as a value for a brand or product. The 25mm Tissot PRX model, including this one, can undoubtedly be said to be pioneers of the "new ladies' sports watch."

Although I really liked the exterior, I felt that the bezel was completely polished, so it sparkled in the light on the wrist, adding to the luxurious feel, but I also felt that scratches would be noticeable.
Also, the sharp edges of the case and bracelet are slightly rounded on the back where they touch the wrist, but I noticed some discomfort when I first put it on. However, it wasn't so sharp that it felt painful. I got used to it as I wore it. In fact, the small diameter and light weight of just 58g (with links removed to fit a 14.7cm wrist; I've forgotten how many links were removed...) combined with the watch's light weight made it comfortable to wear.
The dial with diamond indexes is also eye-catching.

In addition to the "Nude Carnation Gold" colored case and bracelet, the dial is also a highlight of this watch. The pink dial, also named "Nude Carnation Gold," has a sunray finish, with a radial finish from the center to the outer edge, allowing you to enjoy the rays of light running through it as you move your wrist.
Each index is set with three diamonds, which, while modest, adds a special touch to this piece.
The minute track has been omitted. By using only hour markers, it seems to have been designed to give the watch a more dressy look. In fact, the sporty impression of the men's Tissot PRX has been toned down, and the watch has become more elegant. It may be difficult to read when checking the time down to the minute and second, but visibility is not affected by the light source, and I never found it inconvenient while wearing it.
A highly practical ladies' watch

There are many elegant ladies' watches. However, this model is not only elegant, but also a highly practical sports watch. Its high water resistance of 10 bar makes it convenient for everyday use and even for work involving water. Elegantly designed thin watches are often only water resistant to 3 or 5 bar. In addition to its design, water resistance is one of the distinctive features of this model.
Because it is equipped with a quartz movement, unlike mechanical watches, there is no need to periodically wind the mainspring or set the time, making it easy to use (although this "effort" with mechanical watches is precisely what makes it so appealing). Being a quartz movement, it also has good accuracy. Tissot's quartz movements are equipped with a low battery warning function known as EOL (END OF LIFE). The second hand, which normally moves once per second, moves every four seconds when the battery is nearing its end. The crown is also easy to operate. While it is a bit concerning that it can be pulled out two notches even though it has no date function, given the price and the fact that it is a quartz watch and requires very little operation, it should not be a problem in practical use.
Incidentally, the PR in "PRX" stands for "Precise and Robust." In other words, it means high precision and robustness. Furthermore, the X stands for "10 ATM water resistance." While emphasizing elegance, this model embodies the concept reflected in the PRX name.
A sports watch that meets the diverse needs of women
We reviewed the Tissot PRX model with a 25mm case.
The glamour of this watch kept me feeling fresh throughout the week or so I wore it. The "nude carnation gold" exterior color caught my eye and I found myself staring at it. This kind of gorgeous and elegant watch is perfect for wearing to a casual party. On the other hand, the "luxury sport" style common to the Tissot PRX is sporty, and combined with the excellent practicality found in actual sports watches, it is a watch that can be used for everyday use as well as dressy occasions. In other words, it meets the needs of women in a variety of situations.
Combined with its affordable price, the Tissot PRX is likely to reach a wide range of women, just as it has proven popular with men.
