Introducing all the new Seiko watches for 2025! [King Seiko, Prospex, etc.]

2025.08.19

Here's a look at all the new watches Seiko has announced for 2025. The company, which handles a wide range of brands including King Seiko, Seiko Prospex, and Seiko Astron, has a wide variety of new models, so you'll never get bored just looking at the list.

Credor "Locomotive"

"Credor Locomotive" Ref.GCCR997

The Locomotive, which was revived in 2024, was added to the regular lineup as a green dial model. The Credor Locomotive was designed by watch designer Gérald Genta in 1979 and featured a lugless hexagonal case and a bracelet with hexagonal links.

The name Locomotive was chosen because Genta wanted it to be a model that would lead Credor and shape the future, and it featured an avant-garde design unlike any previous model. However, because it was avant-garde, it also included designs that could not be realized with the technology of the time. It's still fresh in our memory that upon its revival in 2024, it was a hot topic that the details were reproduced to be as close as possible to Genta's design drawings.

This regular model is based on the theme of "green light," which comes from a green traffic light and means "the go-ahead to move forward with something." The dial is a deep green and features a fine hexagonal pattern that echoes the design of the case and bracelet.

Credor "Gold Feather Tourbillon Limited Edition" Ref. GBCF999

In 2025, Credor also announced the "Gold Feather Tourbillon Limited Edition." This rare piece, limited to just 10 pieces worldwide, features a dial decorated with lacquer, maki-e, and raden (mother-of-pearl) and a tourbillon mechanism located at the 9 o'clock position. It is scheduled to be released on Friday, October 24, 2025.

The dial was created by Kaga Maki-e master Isshu Tamura. The light emanating from the tourbillon, which resembles the sun, is depicted in red Maki-e on a lacquer base, with the bird elegantly depicted in Kirikane and Raden. The crest mark, Credor lettering, and the gold feather lettering at 6 o'clock are also intricately rendered in Taka-Maki-e.

The case is made of platinum and is one with the case back, giving it a slim shape of just 8.6mm thick. The hand-wound Cal. 6850 movement is also extremely thin, measuring just 3.98mm thick despite being equipped with a tourbillon mechanism, greatly contributing to the watch's slim design. The transparent case back allows you to see the engraving and lacquer decoration featuring a bird of prey's flight feathers.

Credor "Art Piece Collection Akira Yamaguchi Collaboration Limited Edition" Ref.GCBD997

Credor has also released the "Art Piece Collection Yamaguchi Akira Collaboration Limited Edition Model," created in partnership with painter Yamaguchi Akira. Only 15 pieces will be sold worldwide.

The design of this watch reflects the worldview of traditional Japanese painting and the spirit of "Suki," a love of refined things. A bold opening runs from 6 to 9 o'clock on the dial, expressing the image of "opening," devised by Yamaguchi. Covered by a patterned sapphire crystal, the opening's three-dimensional effect is enhanced. The index design is also unique, featuring an intricately interlocking diamond pattern made up of 60 lines in 11 different sizes.

The 38mm case has a classical form and is equipped with the manual winding Cal. 6899 movement. The case back has an opening that allows only the balance wheel to be seen, and is surrounded by an engraving of a field of Japanese pampas grass. This design likens the balance wheel to the moon, representing the curves of the autumn pampas grass that spread out and eventually connect to the elliptical orbits of celestial bodies.

Seiko Prospex "JAWS 50th Anniversary Limited Edition" Ref.SBDY137

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the release of the landmark shark movie "Jaws," released in 1975, Seiko Prospex has released a special diver's watch. This collaboration model, limited to 5000 pieces, expresses the worldview of "Jaws."

The unique design of this watch was inspired by the key visuals of the film. The dial features a gradation color that changes from white to blue from 12 o'clock to 6 o'clock, and a embossed pattern reminiscent of waves represents the surface of the ocean. Furthermore, a shark that appears depending on the light near the center creates a thrilling effect reminiscent of a scene from the film. Another key feature is the red "JAWS" logo near the center, emphasizing the specialness of this collaboration model.

The rounded case shape is affectionately known as the "Turtle" among Seiko's diver's watches, and the crown located at the 4 o'clock position emphasizes the originality of the case shape while not interfering with active wrist movement. In addition to being water resistant to 200m, it also has a unidirectional rotating bezel with a scratch-resistant ceramic bezel insert, making it highly functional as a diver's watch.

As a special feature, the case back is engraved with the orca boat and shark dorsal fin that appear in the film, as well as a serial number. It also comes with a special box featuring the commemorative logo.

Seiko Prospex "Divers 1968 Heritage GMT" Ref. SBEJ029

In 1968, three years after creating Japan's first diver's watch, Seiko released a 300m water-resistant diver's watch equipped with a high-beat movement that vibrates at 10 vibrations per second. This milestone model is a modern interpretation of the Seiko diver's watch, the Divers 1968 Heritage GMT, which features a GMT function. A new color model has been added.

This model features a refreshing color combination of a silver-white dial with a sunray finish and a navy ceramic bezel insert. The hands and indexes are coated with luminous paint, and the tips of the GMT and second hands are colored red, providing a design accent and excellent visibility.

The 42mm case is water resistant to 300m, just like the original. The clasp is equipped with a newly designed slide adjuster, allowing for six length adjustments in approximately 2.5mm increments. This not only makes it easy to wear over a diver's suit, but also adapts to changes in wrist size during everyday use, contributing to a comfortable fit. The movement is the Cal. 6R54, which has a power reserve of approximately 72 hours.

Both are light-powered chronograph watches, and the dials feature a color scheme inspired by the main color of the event, Edo purple.

The Ref. SBED015 is a multi-function model equipped with a GPS radio wave reception function, dual time display, and a 1/20th-second chronograph. Seiko Prospex "Marinemaster Professional Seiko Diver's Watch 60th Anniversary Limited Edition Model"

Seiko "Marinemaster Professional Seiko Diver's Watch 60th Anniversary Limited Edition Model"

The year 2025 marks the 60th anniversary of Seiko's launch of Japan's first domestically produced diver's watch in 1965. Those 60 years can be considered a history of challenging extreme limits, including the Antarctic Research Expedition wintering team, the use of the watch by Naoki Uemura and Teruo Matsuura on their ascent of Mount Everest, and the development of a 600m saturation diving model.

In keeping with this commemorative year for Seiko diver's watches, the Marinemaster flagship will be updated. The Marinemaster Professional Seiko Diver's Watch 60th Anniversary Limited Edition Model features a one-piece titanium case that is water resistant to 600m for saturation diving and is equipped with the newly developed mechanical movement, Cal. 8L45.

Seiko does not use an escape valve, which many saturation diving models use to release helium gas that gets into the case, but instead ensures performance by using a case structure and seals that prevent helium gas from getting in. This model also features a newly designed titanium case based on the same design concept, achieving a large yet lightweight feel when worn.

The Cal. 8L45 movement has been redesigned, including improvements to the mainspring shape, and precise precision adjustments have been made to achieve a power reserve of approximately 72 hours and an accuracy of +10 to -5 seconds per day. Furthermore, the movement is secured in a way that is designed for use in diver's watches, further enhancing its robustness.

The blue dial of this watch is inspired by the mysterious world of the deep sea, where time lingers, and features a wave pattern embossed on the dial, representing the deep sea world that only professional divers can see.

Seiko Prospex "Divers 1965 Heritage Seiko Divers Watch 60th Anniversary Limited Edition"

The "Prospex Divers 1965 Heritage Seiko Divers' Watch 60th Anniversary Limited Edition" Ref. SBDC213 is a limited edition model based on an updated design of Seiko's first diver's watch released in 1965, incorporating the "wave mark" motif, which expresses the ruggedness of the ocean, into the dial. The wave mark was first used on the case back of the world's first titanium 600m saturation diving model in 1975, and has been used on Seiko diver's watches since then.

The dial is silver with a gray bezel insert that matches the subdued color tone. The wave mark on the dial is embossed, a technique often used by Seiko and highly acclaimed for its finish.

A new bracelet buckle has also been developed to coincide with the release of this model. By pressing the button on the side of the buckle while wearing the watch, the length can be adjusted in six steps of approximately 2.5 mm, up to a maximum of approximately 15 mm.

The "Prospex Divers 1968 Heritage Seiko Divers Watch 60th Anniversary Limited Edition" Ref. SBEJ027 is also a limited edition model that incorporates the wave mark on the dial. Based on the design of the model released in 1968, it is equipped with the automatic movement Cal. 6R54 with a GMT display function, aimed at people active around the world.

The water resistance has been improved compared to previous models, and the new 1968 Heritage Design model is the first to feature the Cal. 6R54 movement and is water resistant to 300m for air diving. The dial, with its embossed design reminiscent of rough waves and deep blue, represents the ocean where divers' watches are used.

Seiko Presage "Classic Series Craftsmanship Arita Ware Unglazed Dial Limited Edition" Ref. SARX127

The Seiko Presage Classic Series Craftsmanship offers a diverse lineup of timepieces that incorporate traditional Japanese craftsmanship. The new model, Ref. SARX127, is a limited edition model that uses a new Arita ware technique, "unglazed" (muyu), on the dial. Only 1200 pieces are available worldwide.

The unglazed finish, realized using functional clay developed by the Saga Prefecture Ceramics Technology Development Center, is a technique that deliberately does not use glaze, bringing out the natural matte, warm texture of the ceramic stone. This makes it possible to express sharp ridges, and the dial of this piece features a modern, three-dimensional diamond pattern that represents wishes for prosperity of descendants and good health.

This dial was created under the supervision of a potter from the venerable Shin Kiln, a company with over 190 years of history, through a highly challenging process that includes casting using high-precision plaster molds and firing at a high temperature of 1300°C. The hands and indexes are gold-colored, adding to the elegant finish. The 40.6mm case is equipped with the Cal. 6R51 movement, which has a power reserve of approximately 72 hours.

King Seiko "VANAC"

Seiko "King Seiko VANAC"

The King Seiko VANAC, beloved by Seiko fans of the past, is making a comeback. Launched in 1972, the King Seiko VANAC featured colorful, gradation dials with a variety of patterns and a distinctive, innovative, multifaceted case design, a stark contrast to the King Seiko models of the 1960s. It can be said to be one of the collections that symbolizes the 1970s, a decade marked by the birth of diverse designs.

The revival of the King Seiko VANAC was planned not as a reproduction of a specific model, but as a new "VANAC" that inherits the spirit of the collection. The design concept is "Tokyo Horizon," the magnificent horizon that stretches over Tokyo, the birthplace of King Seiko.

The most distinctive colorful dial is available in three colors for the regular model: purple, which represents the Tokyo sunset; navy, which represents midnight; and silver, which represents sunrise. The center of the dial features horizontal indentations inspired by the horizon, combined with minute indices that appear to divide the outer periphery of the dial in a radial pattern. The bezel-less case features numerous flat surfaces and an accentuated finish that creates edges at their boundaries, creating a presence that matches the colorful dial. The newly developed bracelet draws a line that smoothly connects with the case, and features a design that accentuates horizontal lines while using a combination of polished and hairline finishes.

The watch is equipped with the newly developed automatic movement, Cal. 8L45, which has the most stable accuracy of any Seiko mechanical movement today, with a daily deviation of +10 to -5 seconds. It has a power reserve of approximately 72 hours and is robust enough to be used in a diver's watch, making it highly practical.
