New challenges in thinning
The history of Piaget is also the history of thin movements. Starting with the hand-wound Caliber 9P, Piaget developed the automatic thin Caliber 12P just three years later. What's noteworthy is that the Caliber 12P uses a micro-rotor for its automatic winding oscillating weight. This enabled Piaget to realize its goal of creating a thin, luxury dress watch. As if to dispel the preconceived notion that thinness necessarily equates to delicateness, each of its subsequent thin movements was designed to be more robust than anyone could have imagined.
