Gerald Charles is a brand that was born in 2000, combining the two first names of Gerald Genta. Genta led the brand until 2003, then handed over the company to the Giviani family, a renowned Italian watchmaking family with whom he had close ties. He continued to work energetically as chief designer until his death in 2011. The current Gerald Charles lineup is based on the original design created by Genta in 2004, so it can be said that Gerald Charles embodies Genta's final designs, which had a profound impact on watch design.

The Maestro GC39 25th Anniversary Model, unveiled at Watches & Wonders Geneva in 2025, is one such example. This model commemorates the brand's 25th anniversary. The basic design of all Gerald Charles models, including the Maestro GC39, is inspired by Baroque monuments designed by 17th-century architect Francesco Borroni. The bezel and case are based on an octagon, with similar shapes connected in a stepped pattern, and a distinctive bulge called a "smile" is added at the 6 o'clock position.

Gerald Charles "Maestro GC39 25th Anniversary Model" Ref. GC39-TNP-LSEN-RSDP-REM
Automatic (Manufacture 4.0 caliber). 38 jewels. Power reserve approximately 50 hours. Ti case (42mm x 41mm). Water resistant to 100m. Limited to 100 pieces worldwide. Price: 7,757,750 yen (tax included).

The time display format is inspired by the classic "Montre à Guiché" (window clock), and the original 2005 model showed the hours in an aperture on the dial at 12 o'clock using the "sliding hour" developed by Antoine Preziuso, with a central minute hand.

The Maestro GC39 25th Anniversary model achieves this distinctive time display format with the in-house developed Manufacture 4.0 caliber, which features a jumping hour movement, a nod to Genta, who designed many of his watches in his later years with this movement.

Although the case size is not small at 42mm in height and 41mm in width, it is lightweight because it is made of titanium, and since many of the Maestro series are made to be thin, it will provide a comfortable fit.

The dial design is based on the original, but features lapis lazuli in the center, with radial indentations that evoke the appearance of light. A minute track is placed around the outer periphery, enhancing the classic impression. The case is made of grade 5 titanium and has a polished finish to enhance the appearance and improve comfort.

The dial is made from three different parts and materials and features the number "25" representing the 25th anniversary, along with the Gerald Charles logo, in the center, giving it a special feel.
