Carbon fiber case now available for Ultra-Clon
Longines has added a new model to its Ultra-Chron line, the company's first to feature a carbon case.
The current Ultra-Chron is a modern revival of a 1968 diver's watch equipped with a high-beat movement that beats at 10 vibrations per second. Its faithfully reproduced design, including its cushion-shaped case and shining logo at 6 o'clock, has attracted attention for its newly developed high-beat movement. In theory, a high frequency means that the watch is less susceptible to external shocks, ensuring high accuracy during use. These specifications are truly worthy of the Ultra-Chron, a high-spec sports watch.

The new model's case is made of carbon fiber, a lightweight yet strong material. The process involves hardening carbon fiber and epoxy resin, then carving it out, resulting in a unique marble pattern on each individual case. The use of this new material has made this model significantly lighter while still achieving the same 30 bar water resistance as the stainless steel case model. Titanium is used for the bezel, case back, and crown, which also contribute to the weight reduction.
Not only has the exterior material changed, but the coloring has also been changed to create a modern look. While the stainless steel case model was faithful to the original, this model has a completely different impression thanks to its monochrome design.
Longines' reissue models have always been highly popular. This recognition is not only due to the company's long history and extensive archives. It is also due to the company's commitment to timeless fashion, which pays homage to the past while incorporating new value, that makes the reissue models shine even more.
