The 41mm case is crafted from highly refined white ceramic, its color inspired by the snowy winter scenery surrounding Lake Tahoe, located on the border between California and Nevada in the United States. In addition to its natural beauty, the area is known as the training ground for elite U.S. Naval Aviation personnel.

The Lake Tahoe White colour, which has become iconic for IWC, is achieved through a complex process: zirconium oxide is mixed with specific metal oxides in precise proportions, which are then pressed under high pressure. A subsequent "sintering" process gives the material an exceptional hardness of approximately 1300 Vickers, making the structure extremely scratch-resistant.

The watch's appearance is striking, with a deep matte black dial featuring white indexes and Arabic numerals. The hands, which are black-coated and coated with Super-LumiNova, ensure legibility even during night flights. The date display is also matched to the dial's color scheme, creating a harmonious look.
