Seiko's new products combine technology, tradition, and a spirit of adventure

The new Seiko watches to be released on July 11th are all packed with highlights. They include the Ref. SART011, which uses lacquer on the dial, two diver's models that symbolize the company's partnership with PADI, and a reissue of the 5 Sports watch, which has actually been sent into space. These new models, which are packed with the brand's technology and history, are not to be missed.

Seiko "Presage Classic Series Craftsmanship Lacquer Dial"

Presage's new "Presage Classic Series Craftsmanship Lacquer Dial" Ref. SART011 is a model that combines traditional Japanese beauty with timeless elegance. The hand-finished jet-black lacquer dial exudes a liquid-like luster and depth. Traditional lacquering is carefully applied in multiple layers and meticulously polished by artisans to create an alluring mirror-like finish.

The Roman numeral indexes, railway minute scale, and 24-hour display have a classic feel, reminiscent of the "Timekeeper" pocket watch sold by Seiko during the Meiji period. The indexes and scales are also gold-colored, a color scheme reminiscent of Kaga Maki-e and Kanazawa lacquerware.

The case is made of stainless steel with Seiko's proprietary hard coating, DiaShield. It measures 40.2mm in diameter and 12.1mm thick. It is water resistant to 10 bar and has a see-through case back, allowing you to see the automatic movement, Cal. 6R5H (with a power reserve of approximately 72 hours).

The high-quality leather strap features a folding buckle with a safety push button.

Seiko "Prospex Divers 1965 Heritage PADI Special Edition"

Since 2016, Seiko has partnered with PADI, the scuba diving training organization, to release a number of collaborative models, and this model is the latest in that partnership.

This PADI edition, a modern reinterpretation of the legendary 1965 diver, depicts the moment when sunlight penetrates the water's surface, casting a turquoise glow. The 40mm diameter, 13mm thick stainless steel case is water resistant to 300m and houses the automatic movement, Cal. 6R55 (with a power reserve of approximately 72 hours).

It features an edgy design and form, along with the Ref. SBDY129, Ref. SBDY131, and Ref. SBDY133, and is characterized by a modern aesthetic.

The hands, indexes, and bezel markers are coated with Lumibrite to ensure visibility underwater. The crystal is made of Hardlex. Both models are equipped with a metal bracelet with a folding clasp, safety button, and extension mechanism.

Seiko "5 Sports SKX Series" Heritage Design Reissue Limited Edition Model

This is a reissue model of the famous Ref. 6119-8460 from the late 1960s, reviving it with modern technology and specifications. NASA Flight Director Gene Kranz is known to have used a silver-dial Ref. 6119-8460, making it an iconic part of Seiko's tool watch history.
