Grand Seiko has added a new model to its Tentagraph automatic chronograph lineup. The Evolution 9 Collection Tentagraph SLGC006 features a copper-pink dial that reflects the rising sun over Mount Iwate. The subdials and small seconds are a slightly different shade of brown. The indexes and part of the bezel are rose gold, creating an ambitious design with a warm theme.

Tentagraph in the colors of dawn
Grand Seiko's designers aimed to capture the special changing colors of the mountain in the Tentagraph. Mount Iwate, as seen from Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi, has long been an inspiration for the decoration and colors of the company's watch designs, with its distinctive ridgelines and rugged terrain. This new chronograph evokes the special dawn that the mountain displays at the moment of sunrise.
The most striking feature is the copper-pink dial. It shines as if bathed in morning light, and the sunburst finish combined with the embossing creates a shadow effect reminiscent of the ridgeline of Mount Iwate shining in the morning sun. This finish allows the dial to take on completely different looks depending on the angle from which it is viewed.

Automatic winding (Cal. 9SC5). 36,000 vibrations per hour. Power reserve of approximately 72 hours. Bright titanium (diameter 43.2mm, thickness 15.4mm). Water resistant to 10 bar. Limited to 300 pieces worldwide (100 in Japan). Estimated price: 3,025,000 yen (tax included). Scheduled for release on October 10, 2025.
Rose gold details
Numerous rose gold elements complete the overall look. The applied indices, pushers and crown, brand logo, date window frame, and even parts of the bezel are all made of the same material. The subdials are bolder in tone, but still in keeping with the overall tone. The chronograph counter and the small seconds at 3 o'clock are purposefully separated, with the hands finished differently depending on their function.

As a chronograph in the Evolution 9 collection, this model features a black zirconium oxide ceramic bezel with a white tachymeter scale.
In-house chronograph movement
The time display and measurement are carried out by the in-house automatic chronograph movement, Cal. 9SC5, which was released in 2023. It operates at 36,000 vibrations per hour, and the central chronograph hand advances 10 steps per second. When stopped, it is designed to always stop exactly on or between the marks on the scale.
It has a power reserve of approximately 72 hours and is adjusted to within -3 to +5 seconds per day. It also features a column wheel for precise control and a vertical clutch to prevent the hands from jumping. The exterior is also highly decorative, with the bridges having a striped finish reminiscent of the Shizukuishi River. The hollowed-out center rotor is adorned with the brand's iconic lion medallion.
Case and specifications
The Evolution 9 Collection Tentagraph SLGC006 features a 43.2mm diameter, 15.4mm thick bright titanium case. The bracelet with a three-fold buckle is also made of the same material. It features a screw-down crown, a see-through caseback, and is water resistant to 100m. A box-shaped sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating covers the dial.
