Patek Philippe Boutique Kobe Motomachi
Kobe Port was one of the ports that opened when Japan began international trade from the end of the Edo period through the Meiji Restoration. To coincide with the opening of the port, Kobe's former foreign settlement was developed as a residential and commercial area exclusively for foreigners. Designed by a British engineer, it was acclaimed at the time as one of the "most well-organized foreign settlements in the Orient." It continued to develop as the center of business and commerce in Kobe, and continues to do so to this day. Remnants of this history remain strong even today, preserving a unique and beautiful landscape that blends a European-style streetscape that is different from other Japanese cities with a Japanese port town.

It's no wonder that when an executive from Patek Philippe's headquarters came to Japan to inspect the opening of the Patek Philippe Boutique Kobe Motomachi, he fell in love with the area at first sight. Patek Philippe has approximately 270 retail outlets worldwide. Among them, the "boutiques" that embody the brand's philosophy and express and spread its worldview are extremely rare, and are only available to directly managed or select partners. Kobe-based Kamine is the first boutique in Western Japan to be chosen for one of only around 80 stores worldwide.

Blending naturally into the streets of the former Kobe Foreign Settlement, the Patek Philippe Boutique Kobe Motomachi will have its grand opening on October 1, 2025. As is common with Patek Philippe-only boutiques, the boutique's interior, chandelier lighting, product display fixtures, and furniture are all arranged by the company's headquarters and conform to Patek Philippe's global standards.

Upon entering the boutique, you are greeted by an open space created by a high ceiling. Warm light pours in from an elegant chandelier. The room to the left as you enter the boutique is a relatively casual business meeting space, while the room on the right is used for more formal business negotiations. A bar counter is set up in the back, and is used not only for selling watches and business meetings, but also as a space to provide hospitality to boutique visitors. Just in front of the bar counter, on the left, is a relaxing VIP room. This room can be used as a private room by closing the door, so you can enjoy the watch you are looking for with peace of mind, ensuring privacy and security.

Another thing worth mentioning is that the boutique staff who serve customers hold diplomas certified by Patek Philippe. After one year of training in Japan, they undergo a final examination in Switzerland, and those who pass are awarded a silver badge and diploma, officially recognizing them as members of the Patek Philippe boutique.

In other words, Patek Philippe has global standards for its boutiques, but at the same time, it is also dedicated to "developing its people" based on the idea that a boutique is made by the people who serve there. As a result, the hospitality that Kamine, a long-established store with a history of about 120 years, has cultivated over the years, and the synergy between the store and Patek Philippe diploma holders has enabled it to provide a higher level of service.
