Citizen's Campanola has a wide lineup of attractive quartz watches. In addition to the "Cosmosign" model with its precise star chart, the Campanola lineup also includes models with complex quartz movements, moon phase models, and models equipped with La Joux-Perret automatic movements, all with a three-dimensional dial as their design code.

Campanola celebrated its 25th anniversary this year, and as part of the celebration, they released a limited edition series called "Hoshi no Hibiki (Sound of the Stars)." The standout among these is the "Grand Complication" Ref. AH4084-51E. This model's unique features include a minute repeater, moon phase, perpetual calendar, chronograph, and 24-hour display, all of which are realized by quartz movements.

The dial of this watch features a perpetual calendar with a leap year and month display at 6 o'clock and a date and day display at 9 o'clock, while a 24-hour display and seconds display are located at 3 o'clock. When the chronograph is in operation, the month and leap year hands function as counters, while the central chronograph seconds hand measures the seconds. The minute repeater is also realized by combining two electronic sounds. Its richness is worthy of the name "Grand Complication."

The commemorative Seikyo model features a first for the brand, with both the case and bracelet treated with Duratect DLC, a surface hardening treatment, giving it an all-black appearance. Gold accents are then added to represent the pitch-black universe and sparkling stars. Campanola models are known for their three-dimensional, deep dial design, and this model's gold accents accentuate this three-dimensional effect.

Next up, we'll take a look at the Casio Oceanus Manta S7000 Series Ref. OCW-S7000CN-1AJF, crafted in a bold black finish. The Oceanus line is a line within Casio's lineup that strives for high-quality finishes and a slim, beautiful form, and the Manta is positioned as the flagship model. As befits a flagship model, it's packed with features and will support users in a variety of situations, from business to casual.

The concept of this black model is "CALM NIGHT," which signifies a quiet and tranquil night. To embody the tranquil night sea bathed in moonlight and the mysterious world of light and shadow, the titanium exterior is finished in all black, while the sapphire glass bezel incorporates traditional Edo Kiriko techniques, making it a notable feature. The bezel was overseen by Toru Horiguchi, a traditional craftsman and the third generation of Horiguchi Kiriko "Hideki." A highlight is the expression of the moonlight and the sparkle of the sea reflecting it, using the traditional "Sensuji" cut glass pattern. This cutting is applied from the back of the bezel, and the gradation is achieved by applying a silver vapor deposition followed by a black vapor deposition from above and a silver vapor deposition from below. The lines are rendered softly and delicately through the transparent sapphire glass.

The base of the dial is also noteworthy. In contrast to the neat inset dial, the textured dial has a matte finish, expressing the delicate and elegant expression of the full moon. By using a mold with a textured finish that utilizes Casio's proud mold processing technology, a fine yet three-dimensional finish is achieved.

Casio's "Oceanus" breaks new ground! Edo Kiriko expresses the "calm sea under the moonlight."

So far, we have introduced models equipped with a chronograph function. Next, we will introduce a motorsport-themed model where the chronograph function comes into play. The model we will introduce is the "Tag Heuer Formula 1 Chronograph x Senna 43mm."

TAG Heuer is a brand that has made significant contributions to the motorsports field since the 1970s, working on accurate lap time measurement and data analysis, and currently serves as the official timekeeper of Formula 1®. Reflecting this history, the brand is also known for its many attractive chronographs for motorsports.

The name of this work, "Senna," pays homage to the F1 driver Ayrton Senna, who was also fondly known in Japan as the "Sonic Prince." TAG Heuer has had an ambassador contract with Ayrton Senna since 1993, and there are photographs of him wearing a TAG Heuer timepiece.

The name "Senna" is inscribed at the 1 o'clock position, and the 12-hour counter at 6 o'clock features the coloring of Senna's helmet, which is inspired by the Brazilian flag. The 43mm stainless steel case combines satin and polished finishes, creating an elegant yet sporty look. This model is equipped with a bracelet, and the links have an S-shaped design, which was also worn on the model favored by Ayrton Senna.

Tag Heuer regularly releases "Senna models" like this one, all of which have proven popular, proving that the driver Ayrton Senna is still loved by many people today.

Breitling Endurance Pro IRONMAN® 70.3® World Championship 2025 Edition, Ref. X823101K1C1S1

Breitling Endurance Pro

Breitling Endurance Pro IRONMAN® 70.3® World Championship 2025 Edition, Ref. X823101K1C1S1
Quartz (Cal. 82). Breitlight® case (44mm diameter, 12.5mm thick). 100m water resistant. Limited to 300 pieces worldwide. 572,000 yen (tax included). (Inquiries) Breitling Japan Tel. 0120-105-707

Finally, we have the Breitling Endurance Pro IRONMAN® 70.3® World Championship 2025 Edition, a sporty yet tough watch for those who push their limits. Endurance means stamina or endurance, and often refers to an endurance race. The endurance race that this film challenges is a triathlon, which consists of long-distance running, swimming, and cycling.

The IRONMAN® 70.3® World Championship, named after the model, is a triathlon race held over half the usual distance (70.3 miles), and is a popular event for both professionals and amateurs. Even though it's only half the distance, it's still extremely demanding, involving a 1.9km swim, a 90km bike ride, and a 21.1km long-distance run, so a watch that supports these extreme challenges is essential.

This model is a quartz chronograph model with a 12-hour counter at 2 o'clock, a small seconds at 6 o'clock, and a 30-minute counter at 10 o'clock. This movement is classified as a SuperQuartz movement and is equipped with a temperature compensation function. This is likely intended to maintain accuracy in environments with extreme temperature changes, such as long-distance triathlons, exposure to the hot sun during cycling, or the temperature drop caused by swimming in water.

To ensure comfortable wear even during demanding races, a watch must be lightweight. The case of this watch is therefore made from Breitling's proprietary Breitlight® material, a combination of polymer and fiber. It is extremely light, weighing approximately one-third the weight of titanium and one-sixth the weight of stainless steel. It also boasts excellent thermal stability, high scratch resistance, and is non-magnetic.

The turquoise dial and rubber strap contrast with the black case. The logo of the IRONMAN® 70.3® World Championship 2025, which will be held in Andalusia, Spain, is placed at the 6 o'clock position. The design features arched doors and decorative tiles, symbols of Andalusian culture.
