Casio G-SHOCK "MR-G" Popularity Ranking Top 5

MR-G is known as G-SHOCK's highest-end line. Since its launch in 1996 as a full-metal G-SHOCK, MR-G has grown to become a luxury watch, not only offering shock resistance but also innovative materials, artisanal finishing, and precision assembly. Recently, many models have been released with unique designs inspired by traditional Japanese motifs, attracting attention both from within Japan and overseas.

This time, we will introduce the top 5 most popular MR-G watches for 2025. These are masterpieces created by bringing together the best of G-SHOCK technology.

5th place: “MRG-B2000RG-3AJR”

This analog model is themed around the traditional Japanese color "kurogane-iro" (iron color). Deep hardening and green DLC coating are used to recreate the blue-green color seen when the iron used in armor is heated. The delicate pattern that appears on the bezel is created using recrystallized titanium, and is inspired by the "nie" (boiled edges) that appear on the blade of a tempered Japanese sword.

The three-dimensional analog dial features gold-colored indexes and hands, ensuring excellent visibility. The shape of the indexes incorporates curves reminiscent of the curvature of a sword. The base of the dial and each sub-dial are decorated with different patterns based on fans and folding screens, allowing you to enjoy the changes in their appearance depending on the lighting.

The dynamically shaped case is made of titanium, making it lightweight and easy to handle. It features a clad guard structure that combines shock resistance with ease of operation, reducing impacts on the crown.

The band is made of a soft and durable Durasoft band and is fitted with a folding clasp.

A model with a black iron theme. Designs incorporating sword motifs are incorporated throughout. Tough Solar. Approximately 26 months on a full charge (power save mode). Ti case (54.7mm x 49.8mm, 16.9mm thick). Water resistant to 20 bar. 385,000 yen (tax included). Sold out on the official website.

4th place: "MRG-B2100B-1AJR"

The MR-G from the "2100" series features an octagonal bezel and a simple, all-black exterior. The design is inspired by the traditional Japanese craft of "Kigumi," with the dial featuring concave and convex surfaces and minute holes. This structure not only expresses the beautiful worldview of kumiko latticework, but also allows the watch to capture the light necessary for solar power generation.

Another distinctive feature is the exterior structure of the bezel, which is divided into 27 parts. This allows for polishing to every corner, successfully enhancing its aesthetic appeal. The top bezel is made of Cobalion, which is approximately four times harder than pure titanium and boasts a brilliance equivalent to platinum. The case, case back, buttons, and crown are made of 64 titanium, and the links of the band are made of DAT55G, which is approximately three times harder than pure titanium.

It should also be noted that the Multiguard Structure provides the excellent shock resistance that is characteristic of G-SHOCK. The exterior is finished in a cool black with a DLC coating.

Another attractive feature is that it is equipped with convenient functions for everyday use, such as mobile link, radio wave reception, Tough Solar, and full auto calendar.

MRG-B2100B-1A

3rd place: “MRG-B2000BG-3AJR”

This is a variation of the MRG-B2000RG-3AJR, which came in fifth place. It also has a design based on the theme of iron color. While the MRG-B2000RG-3AJR featured a bezel with a recrystallized titanium pattern, this model has a clean bezel with a hairline finish.

The dial is black with a green subdial and gold-colored indexes and hands. The date display is located at 4:30, making it convenient for everyday use.

The titanium case, with its green DLC coating, is designed to seamlessly transition from the bracelet, creating a sharp, edgy design. The screws on the bezel, push buttons, and crown are accented with gold ion plating. The titanium bracelet, with the same green DLC finish as the case, creates a dignified atmosphere.

It is equipped with a wide range of functions, including Tough Solar, Mobile Link, radio wave reception, stopwatch, dual time, and alarm.

Last year, it was third. The bezel, which is molded as a single piece on resin models, is divided into 25 parts. This structure allows for the finest polishing of each individual part. The Multi-Guard Structure, which incorporates shock absorbers between the bezel parts, ensures high shock resistance.

The case is made of 64 titanium, the bracelet is made of DAT55G, and the top bezel is made of Cobalion, a cobalt-chrome alloy. The bezel and bracelet are coated with DLC, and together with the red line around the LCD screen, it has a distinctive G-SHOCK color scheme. The gold color used on the push buttons and case back adds a subtle touch of exclusivity.
