"We live in an age where creating something out of the ordinary is now a given." This year's top 5, chosen by the leader of the Watch Passion Support Group

2025.12.19

This is an annual end-of-year project in which experts select the top five new watches released in 2025. The main MC of the YouTube channel "Watch Passion Support Group," Dancho, selected five watches that exude great taste, including an anniversary model that he described as "simply amazing."

Vacheron Constantin Overseas Ultra-Thin Perpetual Calendar

Vacheron Constantin Overseas

Vacheron Constantin Overseas Extra-Thin Perpetual Calendar Ref. 4300V/220R-H144 / 4300V/220G-H151
Automatic movement (Cal. 1120 QP/1). 36 jewels. 19,800 vph. Power reserve approximately 40 hours. 18KPG or 18KWG case (diameter 41.5mm, thickness 8.1mm). Water resistant to 5 bar. Price enquiries required. (Inquiries) Vacheron Constantin Tel. 0120-63-1755

All of Vacheron Constantin's new releases for its 270th anniversary were impressive. Among them, this one really showed the brand's excellent taste. It features a perpetual calendar in a slim 8.1mm case and is packaged as a sports watch with water resistance to 5 bar. The color choice is also excellent, and it's a watch that you'll want to wear every day, and I truly believe I'd like to own it someday.

Breguet "Classic Subscription 2025"

Classic Subscription 2025

Breguet "Classic Subscription 2025" Ref. 2025BH/28/9W6
Manual winding (Cal. VS00). 21 jewels. 21,600 vph. Power reserve approximately 96 hours. 18K Breguet gold case (diameter 40mm, thickness 10.8mm). Water resistant to 3 bar. 7,579,000 yen (tax included). (Inquiries) Breguet Boutique Ginza Tel. 03-6254-7211

It features a single-hand pocket watch, a groundbreaking advance payment system, a shock-resistant "parachute" device, guilloched motifs from the Île de la Cité, the birthplace of Breguet, and a secret signature using a pantograph. This masterpiece encapsulates the genius of the original Breguet and pays homage to 250 years of history. I was also impressed by the passion they put into developing an 18K alloy, a field that most watch brands wouldn't venture into.

Glashütte Original "Senator Meissen"

Glashütte Original "Senator Meissen"
Automatic winding (Cal. 36-16). 28,800 vibrations per hour. Power reserve of approximately 100 hours. 18KRG case (diameter 40mm, thickness 10.20mm). Water resistant to 50m. Limited to 150 pieces worldwide. 4,235,000 yen (tax included). (Inquiries) Glashütte Original Boutique Ginza Tel. 03-6254-7266

A perfect expression of German aesthetics, this piece is worthy of celebrating the 180th anniversary of Glashütte Original's founding. The handwritten "Mystic Maison" evokes a captivating worldview reminiscent of a fairy tale. Even the indices are handwritten, and the watch is completed through multiple firings, truly demonstrating the craftsman's dedication. While the dial and movement tend to catch the eye, the polished exterior is also stunning.

Omega Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon

Omega Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon

Omega Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon Ref. 310.92.44.50.06.001 / Ref. 310.92.44.50.06.002
Manual winding (Cal. 3869). 26 jewels. 21,600 vph. Power reserve approximately 50 hours. Ceramic case (diameter 44.25 mm, thickness 12.97 mm). 50m water resistant. 2,321,000 yen each (tax included). (Inquiries) Omega Tel. 0570-000087

The design embodies the words of astronaut Jim Lovell, the first man to orbit the moon: "The moon is essentially gray." The laser engraving on the dial and movement is just as exquisite as the previous model. Additionally, this model uses plasma-processed gray ceramic for the exterior, giving it a metallic texture reminiscent of a spaceship. Its sparkle is so striking it could be mistaken for stainless steel.

Panerai "Luminor Marina Titanio" Ref. PAM03325

Panerai "Luminor Marina Titanio" Ref. PAM03325

Panerai "Luminor Marina Titanio" Ref. PAM03325
Automatic winding (Cal. P. 980). 23 jewels. 28,800 vph. Power reserve approximately 72 hours. Ti case (diameter 44 mm, thickness 13.7 mm). 500 m water resistant. 1,474,000 yen (tax included). (Inquiries) Officine Panerai Tel. 0120-18-7110

April article (http://www.webchronos.net/features/136766/) but I think it's a must-have watch even when you're looking at it all year round. The Luminor is an excellent watch, with a thinner case, a see-through back, improved water resistance, and even a quick-change strap. It's also great that it's reasonably priced despite having a titanium case. The simple two-tone white and green color scheme is also lovely.

General comment

What was amazing about 2025 was the rush of new releases from brands celebrating their anniversaries, especially Vacheron Constantin, which celebrated its 270th anniversary, and Breguet, which celebrated its 250th anniversary. I was even more impressed by Breguet, as I was able to hear a presentation directly from CEO Gregory Kisling.

I also recall that there were many challenging new releases from other brands. The aforementioned Dark Side of the Moon was one example, but the new movements from Rolex and Grand Seiko were also fantastic, and the skill with which Cartier and Tudor developed variations was also outstanding. The full titanium "Tissot PRX" was amazing with all sorts of bugs!

We live in an age where creating something out of the ordinary is now a given. From 2026 onwards, accumulated know-how and heritage, and the good taste that emerges from them, will likely be even more sought after.
