2025.12.26

To mark the 150th anniversary of its founding in 2025, Audemars Piguet has presented limited edition models that reexamine the complex mechanisms, material expression, and design codes that the brand has cultivated. The "CODE 11.59 by Audemars Piguet" brings the traditions of "sound" and "materials" into the modern era through natural stone dials and chiming mechanisms. Meanwhile, the "Royal Oak" quietly marks its progress with the RD#5, which pushes the ideal of ultra-thinness to the limit, and the perpetual calendar, which represents the pinnacle of the brand's long-standing movement. This special feature examines Audemars Piguet's current state through these limited edition models, the culmination of 150 years of history.

The current state of technology and materials, culminating in 150 years of experience

Audemars Piguet will celebrate the 150th anniversary of the brand's founding in 2025. What the 150th anniversary models have in common is not simply commemorative, but a clear intention to "pass on past technologies and designs to the next generation." Elements such as ultra-thinness, complex mechanisms, natural materials, and acoustics are not considered in isolation, but are organically linked within the brand's philosophy. At this milestone, Audemars Piguet has not only looked back on its history, but has also demonstrated its direction for the future through its solid design and mechanism.

CODE 11.59 by Audemars Piguet Flying Tourbillon 38mm

Audemars Piguet "CODE 11.59 by Audemars Piguet Flying Tourbillon 38mm" Ref. 26665OR.OO.D349CR.01
Automatic winding (Cal. 2968). 21,600 vph. Power reserve approximately 50 hours. 18KRG case (diameter 38.00 mm, thickness 9.60 mm). Water resistant to 3 bar.

The CODE 11.59 by Audemars Piguet Flying Tourbillon 38mm, released to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Audemars Piguet's founding, features a blue sodalite dial. The deep blue stone gives an intellectual and serene impression, creating a striking contrast with the warm glow of the 18K gold case.

The flying tourbillon at 6 o'clock is supported only from the underside, creating the visual effect of floating above the dial. The dial is made from thinly sliced natural stone, and each one has its own unique pattern and shading, meaning no two pieces have the same look.

The Cal. 2968 movement is an ultra-thin automatic flying tourbillon movement measuring just 3.4mm thick. The titanium cage and peripheral drive system ensure both lightness and stability, achieving a high level of perfection for a complex mechanism in a small case.

Audemars Piguet "CODE 11.59 by Audemars Piguet Flying Tourbillon 38mm" Ref. 26665BC.OO.D632CR.01
Automatic winding (Cal. 2968). 21,600 vph. Power reserve approximately 50 hours. 18KWG case (diameter 38.00 mm, thickness 9.60 mm). Water resistant to 3 ATM.

This model, which uses ruby root for the dial, brings to the forefront the strength and passionate color of natural stones. The natural patterns running through the reddish-brown color strongly assert the vitality of the material, and when combined with the cool brilliance of the 18KWG case, it creates a tense appearance.

The flying tourbillon at 6 o'clock has a cage that is supported only from the bottom, giving the impression of being free on the dial. Natural stone dials require extremely delicate processing, and it is these individual differences that determine the look of each watch.

Caliber 2968 is a movement that pursues a thinner design while maintaining the proportions of a traditional tourbillon, and is a symbol of Audemars Piguet's technological maturity, allowing complex mechanisms to be realized without compromise even in small cases.

Automatic winding (Cal. 2968). 21,600 vph. Power reserve approximately 50 hours. 18K yellow gold case (diameter 38.00 mm, thickness 9.60 mm). Water resistant to 3 bar.

This model, made with green malachite, focuses on the natural stone's powerful stripes. The varying shades of green create visual depth, and when combined with the classic shine of the 18K yellow gold case, it achieves an appearance that is both glamorous and subdued.

The flying tourbillon at 6 o'clock appears to float above the dial, bringing together the organic patterns of the malachite and mechanical movement on a single screen. Each natural stone is unique, so even the same model can have a different impression.

The ultra-thin Cal.2968 is designed to enhance stability and energy efficiency, achieving both practicality and visual lightness. This piece, which directly combines the symbolism of the material with a highly complex mechanism, has a distinctive narrative even within the CODE 11.59 collection.

Royal Oak "Jumbo" Extra-Thin Flying Tourbillon Chronograph (RD#5)

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak "Jumbo" (RD#5)

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak "Jumbo" Extra-Thin Flying Tourbillon Chronograph (RD#5) "150th Anniversary" Ref. 26545XT.OO.1240XT.01
Automatic movement (Cal. 8100). 44 jewels. 21,600 vph. Power reserve approximately 72 hours. Titanium case (diameter 39mm, thickness 8.1mm). Water resistant to 2 bar. Limited to 150 pieces worldwide.

The RD#5 is a watch that combines a flyback chronograph and a flying tourbillon while maintaining the slimness and comfortable fit of the "Jumbo." The new movement, Cal. 8100, developed for this purpose abandons the conventional hammer and heart cam reset mechanism and instead adopts a rack and pinion mechanism. This structure stores energy when activated and releases it all at once when reset, allowing for both instant jump minutes and an extremely light feel.

The chronograph pushers operate with a short stroke and little force, providing a tactile feel that is clearly different from that of conventional mechanical chronographs. Additionally, the case and bracelet, made from a combination of titanium and bulk metallic glass (BMG), are both lightweight and lustrous. This chronograph redefines operability without compromising the delicate proportions of the "Jumbo."

Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Openworked Edition "150th Anniversary"

Audemars Piguet "Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Openworked '150th Anniversary'" Ref. 26585XT.OO.1220XT.01
Automatic movement (Cal. 5135). 38 jewels. 19,800 vph. Power reserve approximately 40 hours. Titanium and BMG case (diameter 41mm, thickness 9.9mm). Water resistant to 2 bar. Limited to 150 pieces worldwide.

The essence of this model is that it is the final reference to say goodbye to the caliber 5135, which has powered Audemars Piguet's openworked automatic perpetual calendars for nearly a decade. This movement, which inherited the lineage of ultra-thin automatic perpetual calendars that began in 1978 and reached maturity in the Royal Oak openworked model since 2019, will end its role with this model.

The design features a vintage-style dial code inspired by a pocket watch (Ref. 25729) in the collection of the Musée Atelier Audemars Piguet. While the movement is visible through the sapphire crystal, the inner bezel, the borders of the subdials, and the font design all reflect the design of the past. The bathtub-shaped hands made of 18K white gold with luminous coating and the rounded hour markers combine legibility with a nostalgic charm.

The case and bracelet are crafted from a combination of titanium and bulk metallic glass (BMG), ensuring lightness, durability, and a distinctive luster. BMG is also used for the bezel, caseback frame, and bracelet studs, creating a striking contrast between the satin-finished titanium and mirror polish. Furthermore, a dual moon phase display at 6 o'clock, showing the lunar phases in both the northern and southern hemispheres, combines astronomical precision with poetic expression.

Featuring a special 150th anniversary signature, the "150" logo, and the inscription "1 of 150 pieces," this model represents a milestone in the evolution of the Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar, which has evolved through material experimentation and aesthetic beauty. At the same time, it can be considered a quiet finale that clearly marks the transition to the next generation of movement.

CODE 11.59 by Audemars Piguet Grande Sonnerie Carillon Supersonnerie "150th Anniversary"

Audemars Piguet "CODE 11.59 by Audemars Piguet Grande Sonnerie Carillon Supersonnerie "150th Anniversary"" Ref. 26397OR.OO.D417CR.01
Manual winding (Cal. 2956). 21,600 vph. Power reserve approximately 48 hours. 18K pink gold case (diameter 41.00 mm, thickness 13.60 mm). Water resistant to 2 bar. 150th anniversary model.

This piece, commemorating the 150th anniversary of the company's founding, is an ambitious piece that connects Audemars Piguet's tradition of natural stone dials to the present day. The aesthetic of the "gem dial" established by the company from the 1960s to the 90s is redefined in the modern design of the CODE 11.59 by Audemars Piguet, balancing respect for tradition with a unique individuality.

The biggest highlight is the dial, made of ultra-thin 0.45mm Harlequin Opal. The green, red, and yellow colors appear as angular patterns, changing like a kaleidoscope depending on the angle of the light. The minimalist design, which deliberately does not include indexes, allows the stone's natural, mysterious play-of-color effect to take center stage.

The case is crafted from 18K pink gold, and the polishing by skilled artisans accentuates its three-dimensional beauty. Inside, the watch features a three-gong "carillon" and a "supersonnerie" that produces astonishing acoustics. This artistic timepiece captures the pinnacle of acoustic technology on a tranquil canvas adorned with iridescent gemstones.

Audemars Piguet "CODE 11.59 by Audemars Piguet Grande Sonnerie Carillon Supersonnerie "150th Anniversary"" Ref. 26397BC.OO.D357CR.01
Manual winding (Cal. 2956). 21,600 vph. Power reserve approximately 48 hours. 18K white gold case (diameter 41.00 mm, thickness 13.60 mm). Water resistant to 2 bar. 150th anniversary model.

The white gold model is the purest expression of the harmony between sound and materials that Audemars Piguet has long pursued. The tradition of precious stone decoration seen in pocket watches of the past is condensed into a modern 18K white gold case. This time, marking the 150th anniversary, once again demonstrates the culture of appreciating the beauty of stones.

The dial is made of transparent "crystal opal." The blue inner bezel resonates with the iridescent glow inside the opal, creating a fantastical depth. The luxurious visual experience that can only be achieved with natural materials, no two of which have the same appearance, solidifies the value of this craft.

The substantial case is equipped with the Supersonnerie technology, developed in collaboration with the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology. A quiet, visible sparkle and a rich, audible chime, this is the pinnacle of complication, telling the history of the Manufacture through both sight and sound.
