Orient continues to grow in momentum as it celebrates its 75th anniversary

Founded in 1950 and celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, Orient is a Japanese watch brand known for producing unique watches. As they have been focusing on sales overseas from an early stage, they have many collectors both in Japan and overseas, and some models have been given unique nicknames and are well-known among fans.

Orient has now merged with Seiko Epson, with whom it has had a long-standing collaborative relationship, and is now manufacturing watches that leverage the strengths of both companies on a solid management foundation. Orient watches are created using a rich archive woven over 75 years of history and the latest technology. What model will the public relations representative recommend? The selection process takes into account recent popularity and stock availability.

Orient "Orient Bambino 38 Solar Powered" Ref. RN-WK0003G
The Bambino's first solar-powered quartz model. While maintaining its classic design, the watch significantly reduces the hassle of use, making it easier to wear on a daily basis. Solar-powered quartz movement. Stainless steel case (38.4mm diameter, 10.5mm thick). Water resistant to 3 ATM. Price: 37,400 yen (tax included).

Orient's long-selling Bambino watch has gained popularity both in Japan and overseas thanks to its modest price and classic design. Until now, the lineup only included mechanical automatic models, but in 2025, a new model was released featuring a light-powered quartz movement. No winding is required, making time adjustments a breeze. And despite being a quartz movement, this model does not require regular battery changes. Its design and convenience earned it a place in the 2025 Good Design Awards.

The basic design follows the previous Bambino models, with a bomb-shaped ivory dial, box-shaped inorganic crystal, and a compact round case with a diameter of 38mm, creating a retro impression. Another attractive feature is the elaborate design down to the smallest details, such as the three-dimensional indexes that combine Roman numerals and bars, and the blue hands. It's particularly noteworthy that, despite the dial being transparent to allow for solar power generation, it doesn't look cheap.

The strap is made from "Apple Synthetic Leather," an eco-friendly material made from recycled apple cores and apple pomace. It features an easy-exchange mechanism, allowing you to easily separate the case and strap without the need for tools by simply pulling the lever attached to the spring bar.
