A must-see special exhibition for watch enthusiasts celebrating the company's 150th anniversary

Audemars Piguet is holding a special exhibition, "House of Wonders," to commemorate its 150th anniversary on Namiki-dori in Ginza until April 30th. The venue is modeled after the company's headquarters in Le Brassus, where the brand was founded, and the immersive exhibition allows visitors to experience the origins of the brand's 150-year history of watchmaking and its creativity in a three-dimensional way.
Passing through the entrance, visitors are greeted by the "Gallery of Time," which offers a bird's-eye view of the company's 150-year history. Here, valuable documents are used to introduce the background to the origins of watchmaking in the Vallée de Joux, all the way up to the company's founding in 1875. Furthermore, in the "Design Vault," historical timepieces that are rarely seen are displayed alongside the latest models. What is interesting is that these are not simply displayed in chronological order, but are arranged according to silhouette, design, function, color, and technology. As a result, the exhibition allows visitors to trace the changes and flow of the times in greater depth, providing a three-dimensional sense of how the accumulation of 150 years has led to the current collection.

Another feature of this exhibition is that it offers content that can be enjoyed not only through viewing the exhibits but also through physical experience. In the VR experience zone, visitors can experience Audemars Piguet's avant-garde spirit and creativity in a virtual space. There will also be a corner in the venue where technicians will explain the mechanisms of mechanical movements. Visitors can get up close and personal with mechanisms that are normally difficult to see, such as the balance wheel and gear movements, and experience the fascinating mechanism of how each individual part fits together to keep time. The explanations are easy to understand and include demonstrations, so as not to be too advanced, and it is likely to be a good introduction for those who are just starting to become interested.
