OMEGA pioneers new possibilities with designs that learn from the past

Omega is a watch brand that can be recommended to everyone, from luxury watch novices to collectors. Current models, in particular, are Master Chronometer certified, with the exception of a few, and offer excellent precision and magnetic resistance, making them easy to use even for first-time mechanical watches. They also offer excellent after-sales service, and best of all, most of the products listed in their catalog can be carefully examined and purchased in-store.

In 2025, Omega once again announced many attractive new models, centered on their signature Seamaster and Speedmaster models. This time, I, a watch writer, will introduce three of these that I truly want. Omega offers a lineup of high-end watches that are highly practical and can withstand years of use. The three models listed here are only a small part of the selection. To find out which model strikes a chord with you, be sure to visit an authorized retailer and spend some quality time choosing a watch with the knowledgeable staff.

Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Ref. 217.30.42.21.01.003

Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean

Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Ref. 217.30.42.21.01.003
The Seamaster Planet Ocean has been updated to its fourth generation. The orange model, which is the symbol of the Planet Ocean, is particularly noteworthy. Automatic movement (Cal. 8912). 39 jewels. 25,200 vph. Power reserve of approximately 60 hours. Stainless steel and titanium case (42mm diameter, 13.79mm thick). Water resistant to 600m. Priced at 1,342,000 yen (tax included).

The Seamaster Planet Ocean, which was released in 2005, is a high-spec diver's watch that boasts a water resistance of 600m and a stylish design. Since its launch, the Planet Ocean has undergone numerous updates, and in 2025 it was redesigned into its fourth generation.

Many readers will be surprised by the significant changes to the previous model. Omega's iconic twisted lugs have been replaced with sharper, more edgy lugs, the helium escape valve at 10 o'clock has been eliminated, and a sporty crown guard has been added. At 13.79mm thick, it is more than 2mm thinner than the previous model.

However, elements that symbolize Planet Ocean remain firmly in place, such as the indexes that combine Arabic numerals and trapezoids, the arrow-shaped hour and minute hands, and the font of the numbers on the bezel. The update gives a fresh look while also creating a sense of continuity as a collection, demonstrating the skill of Omega, which has many iconic pieces.

The case back and inner ring are made of grade 5 titanium, a material borrowed from the Seamaster Planet Ocean Ultra Deep, a commercially available model that boasts an incredible water resistance of 6000 meters.

Like the case, the stainless steel bracelet also features a sharp design. The three-link bracelet, with a polished central link and satin-finished ends, is both elegant and sporty.

The movement is equipped with the automatic Cal. 8912. Equipped with a coaxial escapement, it has been certified as a Master Chronometer by METAS, making it highly practical.

Omega "Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon" Ref. 310.92.44.50.06.002

Omega Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon

Omega "Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon" Ref. 310.92.44.50.06.002
The Speedmaster features an elegant, unified gray color scheme. The moon motif design is paired with a Master Chronometer-certified manual-winding chronograph movement. Manual winding (Cal. 3869). 26 jewels. 21,600 vph. Power reserve of approximately 50 hours. Ceramic case (diameter 44.25 mm, thickness 12.97 mm). Water resistant to 50 meters. Price: 2,321,000 yen (tax included).

The Speedmaster has a deep connection to space, having been officially certified by NASA and even landed on the moon in 1969. The Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon celebrates Omega's legacy of space exploration. It features a subdued gray color scheme and lunar-inspired design. The gray color pays homage to the words of Jim Lovell, commander of Apollo 8, the first man in history to see the far side of the moon: "The moon is essentially gray."

The openwork dial features three subdials, a lever visible through the opening, and floating indexes, creating a three-dimensional effect. The intricate pattern on the main plate, which is based on the obverse side of the moon, was created using laser processing.

The see-through case back allows you to view the bridges, which have also been laser-etched. They feature a pattern inspired by the dark side of the moon, recreating the front and back of the moon on both the dial and case back. Of course, you can also enjoy the movements of the levers, cams, and horizontal clutch that are unique to chronograph movements.

Another highlight is the gray ceramic case with a plasma finish. Ceramic is a highly scratch-resistant material, but its high hardness also makes it difficult to process. This model features a polished and hairline finish, giving it a metallic texture that is indistinguishable from stainless steel. The hairline-finished ceramic bezel on top features a laser-engraved tachymeter with white luminous paint.

The grey rubber strap is fitted with a ceramic folding clasp for easy fastening, and the reverse side of the strap is decorated with a lunar surface pattern, adding a playful touch to the watch.

Omega Seamaster Milano Cortina 2026, Ref. 522.53.37.20.04.001

Omega Seamaster Milano Cortina 2026

Omega Seamaster Milano Cortina 2026, Ref. 522.53.37.20.04.001
A special model commemorating the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics. It features a Grand Feu enamel dial and an 18K Moonshine Gold case. Automatic (Cal. 8807). 35 jewels. 25,200 vph. Power reserve: approximately 55 hours. 18K Moonshine Gold case (diameter 37mm, thickness 11.35mm). Water resistant to 10 bar. Price: 3,069,000 yen (tax included).

Omega, the official timekeeper of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, has released a special model to commemorate the event. Its appeal lies in its dressy design, which follows the style of vintage Seamasters.

The clean, no-date white dial is crafted from Grand Feu enamel. The process of repeatedly applying glaze, firing at high temperatures, and polishing the surface requires the utmost skill of a skilled artisan. Wedge-shaped 18K Moonshine gold indexes are set on the dial, along with the Seamaster logo and minute track in Petit Feu enamel.

The 37mm case is crafted from 18K Moonshine Gold. This material is an 18K gold alloy inspired by the light of the moon shining against the dark blue sky. It has a lighter color than regular 18K yellow gold and is more resistant to aging. The flat bezel, sharp lugs, and box-shaped sapphire crystal create a classic impression. Despite its dressy design, it is also water resistant to 10 bar.

The case back is engraved with the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics emblem, giving it the special feel that only a special model commemorating the Games can offer.

The strap is made of brown alligator leather and is fitted with an 18K moonshine gold pin buckle, giving it the elegance befitting a dress watch.

The movement is the automatic Cal. 8807. It features a coaxial escapement that extends the maintenance cycle and a silicon balance spring that is highly resistant to magnetism, making it a Master Chronometer certified watch.
