Color in a watch is not merely decorative. It is an important means of expression that highlights individuality and sometimes even reflects the wearer's sense of distance and emotions. In addition to the standard colors, Frederique Constant's 2024 model adds a salmon color reminiscent of peach and a green color to the dial. Let's take a look at watches that give off a classic and calm impression, yet also a light feeling.

Colors add a personal touch to your watch
Color plays a vital role in determining the impression of a watch. Color can bring out the individuality of a timepiece, sometimes making it stand out and other times creating a sense of understated elegance. And most importantly, it can elevate a watch to a more personal presence.
The two models from Frederique Constant's "Manufacture" collection are perfect examples of this, as their dials come in a color that could be described as "peach" and a green, giving you a boost of vitality like a vitamin boost.
The meaning of "Manufacture" at Frederique Constant
The Manufacture collection holds a special place in Frederique Constant's heart, as it symbolized the brand's incredible and rapid development, launching its first in-house movement in 2004, just 16 years after its founding in 1988. It was this collection that signaled to many that the brand's evolution would never stop.

Automatic movement (Cal. FC-706). 26 jewels. 28,800 vph. Power reserve approximately 72 hours. Stainless steel case (diameter 40mm, thickness 11.7mm). Water resistant to 5 bar. Price: 572,000 yen (tax included).
As of 2024, there are well over 30 different movements developed and manufactured in the company's workshops outside Geneva. While they produce complicated mechanisms such as chronographs, tourbillons, and perpetual calendars, their simpler movements, such as the Classic Date Manufacture, are just as compelling.
The perfection of simplicity. The power of Cal.FC-706
The Cal. FC-706 mounted on this watch operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour and boasts a generous power reserve of approximately 72 hours. Focusing on robust construction, a full bridge is used on the balance. Furthermore, the circular graining on the main plate, blued screws, and a sunburst finish radiating from the center are pleasing to the eye.

The gold-colored rotor creates a striking color contrast with the movement, while also emphasizing the movement's exquisite proportions relative to the case.
The reduced size allows for both comfortable wear and visual effect
Frederique Constant has reduced the case size of this Classic Date Manufacture from the previous model's 42mm diameter to 40mm, a difference that's obvious on the wrist, but the visual impact remains the same: the relatively thin bezel keeps the eye focused on the dial.

The sunray finish on the dial plays with light, creating an effect that makes the watch appear larger than its actual size. The clean design, which combines a black railway minute track with slim indices, also contributes to this impression. The hands are also unified in the same style, and the subdial at 6 o'clock features a pointer date calendar, further enhancing the watch's classic appearance.
Understated details create organic harmony
A closer look at the design reveals subtle touches that contribute greatly to the watch's overall perfection. For example, the calendar subdial at 6 o'clock has a three-dimensional effect, with the date display lowered by one notch. The same goes for the 31st day of the calendar, which is in red. Furthermore, the rounded case and onion-shaped crown combine to create an organic harmony throughout the watch.
Why we want to call it "peach" instead of "salmon"
While silver and black dials are also available, I personally think this salmon-colored model is the highlight, a bit of a departure from the norm. The dial's subtle color and sunburst effect make it what I would call "peach." Whatever you call it, this color perfectly aligns with the brand's classic image.
While it may seem unusual, it actually goes with more than you might imagine. Compared to the more formal black or traditional silver versions, this model feels lighter. The chestnut brown strap also contributes to its casual feel.
Another Moon Phase Option
The Classic Moonphase Date Manufacture is basically the same design as the Date model, except for the moonphase display and green dial and strap. The dimensions, including the case thickness, are also unchanged. Adding the moonphase to the Caliber FC-706 did not require any changes to the case shape.

Automatic movement (Cal. FC-716). 26 jewels. 28,800 vph. Power reserve approximately 72 hours. Stainless steel case (diameter 40mm). Water resistant to 5 bar. Price: 693,000 yen (tax included).
This movement, named Cal. FC-716, also operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour and provides a power reserve of approximately 72 hours from a single barrel. They also come with a five-year warranty. As the moon phase mechanism is naturally located on the dial side, the movement viewed through the sapphire crystal case back is identical to that of the "Date" model, but its exquisite finish never tires of being admired.
The depth of green, a classic color
In recent years, green has gone beyond a passing fad and established itself as a staple color, with many brands, including Frederique Constant, now featuring it in their regular collections.

The name "British Racing Green" used for this watch is perfectly apt. It is deeper than typical green, and in certain light conditions it can appear almost black. However, when taken out into the sun, the vibrant green of grass and yellowish light green begin to make a bold statement. It is this change in color that makes wearing this watch so enjoyable. On the other hand, because the dial is dark in tone, the presence of the navy blue moon phase disc is somewhat subdued.
The value of a manufacture that is close to everyday life
The Classic Date Manufacture is priced at 572,000 yen (tax included) and the Classic Moonphase Date Manufacture is priced at 693,000 yen (tax included), both of which offer extremely high cost performance.
As a manufacturer with a proven track record, these timepieces combine precision, reliability, and style, and are built to be worn daily. Their unique colors are sure to bring a pleasant "watch vitamin" to your daily life.
