Tsutomu Sekine: Why he wears a Rolex Deepsea every day | The delusions and romance of a man who longed for a watch that was water resistant to 3900 meters

Even if you lose it at sea, it will come back. I fell in love with the romance of that and bought the Rolex Deepsea.

Masamasa Hirota, editor-in-chief of the watch magazine Chronos Japan, hosts the radio program "BEST ISHIDA Presents Chronos Japan Tick Tock Talk♪." An after-talk with Tsutomu Sekine as a guest on TOKYO FM's "BEST ISHIDA Presents Chronos Japan Edition Tick Tock Talk♪." Filming and editing: Jintaro Hattori

Our guest this time is Tsutomu Sekine, a TV personality with 50 years of experience in the entertainment industry. Sekine says that his first watch was a Grand Seiko given to him by his brother, but after that, he didn't seem to have any particular connection to watches. However, in the 1990s, his passion for roleplay led him to acquire an Omega Seamaster 007 model.

What's interesting about Sekine as a watch lover is the next watch he purchased. The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Rolex Deepsea boasts water resistance of 3900m. The reason for this is that it has such high specs that even if it falls off the watch and into the deep sea, it will survive and be picked up and returned. Editor-in-Chief Hirota was also excited by the choice of watch, which was not just based on specs but also on fantasy and romance.

In the second half of the program, Editor-in-Chief Hirota recommends the Grand Seiko Tokyo Lion Tentagraph and the Tag Heuer Connected (Golf) to Sekine as his next watch, which will stimulate his love of golf.
