Here's a look at A. Lange & Söhne's new watches for 2026. While the brand is known for producing relatively few new watches each year, it consistently delivers outstanding masterpieces. This year, they are introducing the "Saxonia Annual Calendar" and the "Lange 1 Tourbillon Perpetual Calendar 'Lumen'".

"Saxonia Annual Calendar"
An annual calendar that requires no manual adjustment except for the last day of February. This time, A. Lange & Söhne has fitted a newly developed annual calendar movement into the compact "Saxonia," which measures 36mm in diameter and 9.8mm in thickness.
Automatic winding (Cal. L207.1). 56 jewels. 21,600 vibrations/hour. Power reserve approximately 60 hours. 18K white gold case (36mm diameter, 9.8mm thickness). Price upon inquiry.
Automatic winding (Cal. L207.1). 56 jewels. 21,600 vibrations/hour. Power reserve approximately 60 hours. 18K rose gold case (36mm diameter, 9.8mm thickness). Price upon inquiry.
The 18K white gold or 18K pink gold case is paired with a silver dial (silver for the former, gray for the latter), featuring an oversized date display at 12 o'clock, a month subdial at 3 o'clock, a day subdial at 9 o'clock, and a small seconds and moon phase subdial at 6 o'clock. Combined with the highly legible yet elegant lancet-shaped hands, it possesses a unique and unparalleled aesthetic. This moon phase is a high-precision model that requires only a one-day adjustment after 122.6 years. The 18K gold moon disc is coated in deep blue and studded with 428 stars, creating a miniature representation of the Milky Way.

As mentioned earlier, the annual calendar movement installed in this model is the newly developed Cal.L207.1. Not only can all calendar and moon phase displays be adjusted individually using their respective push buttons, but they can also be advanced all at once using the push button at the 10 o'clock position.

This movement is self-winding, featuring a platinum unidirectional winding center rotor, and can be admired by the owner through the transparent case back, along with the exquisite decoration of each component and the classic balance screws.
"Lange 1 Tourbillon Perpetual Calendar "Lumen""
Another new A. Lange & Söhne model is the "Lange 1 Tourbillon Perpetual Calendar 'Lumen'," which is part of the "Lumen" series. The "Lumen" series, now in its seventh iteration, features luminous paint used for both visibility in the dark and for its unique design. This year's model is based on the "Lange 1" and is equipped with the newly developed Cal.L225.1 complex movement.

Automatic winding (Cal. L225.1). 74 jewels. 21,600 vibrations/hour. Power reserve approximately 50 hours. Platinum case (41.9mm diameter, 13.0mm thickness). Limited edition of 50 pieces worldwide. Price upon inquiry.
This model retains the distinctive style of the "Lange 1," with its dial layout offset to form an isosceles triangle with the center of the hour and minute display as the origin. However, all the calendar mechanisms are equipped with an instantaneous perpetual calendar and a tourbillon. A month display ring is positioned around the outer edge of the dial, and this ring is remarkably rotatable. In addition, there is a leap year indicator window at 6 o'clock, a small seconds and moon phase at 7 o'clock, and a retrograde day of the week display at 9 o'clock.

Because it's a perpetual calendar, the first time you'll need to manually adjust the calendar is March 1, 2100, assuming the watch continues to run. The fact that A. Lange & Söhne has managed to combine such complexity with the practicality of being able to adjust all the displays collectively or individually using push buttons on the case is truly impressive.
The tourbillon is located on the case back.

This tourbillon features a stop-seconds mechanism, which instantly stops the balance wheel in the carriage when the crown is pulled, allowing for precise time setting to the second. This technology is made possible by an intricate structure using a V-shaped braking spring, patented by A. Lange & Söhne in 2008. The stainless steel tourbillon carriage, tourbillon bridge, and intermediate wheel bridge are finished in the brand's signature black polish, and the tourbillon bridge and intermediate wheel bridge are further adorned with hand-engraved decorations of small stars and shooting stars, making it more than enough to ignite the desire to own it.

As it is a "lumen" timepiece, each marker on the dial is coated with luminous paint. This paint is applied in a large, effective, yet delicate manner, resulting in a radiant and elegant appearance. The gleaming white platinum case, dark dial, and hand-stitched black alligator strap harmonize to create a striking presence wherever you are. Incidentally, this contrast of light and dark is also used in the movement, with polished and matte dark colors alternating.
