M Collection TR-MB7005
The M Collection boasts a more dynamic exterior design while incorporating cutting-edge sensor fusion technology inside. The TR-MB7005 also offers new features, such as aging leather bands and interchangeable bands, further enhancing its appeal. It comes with a leather or nylon band. Features include altitude, direction, barometric pressure, and waypoint functions. It features a light-charging GPS satellite radio-controlled quartz movement. It measures 57.2mm x 45.9mm x 15.5mm. Water resistant to 10 bar. Priced at ¥240,000. The straps in the background are the replacement Cordura ballistic nylon band (top) that comes with the TR-MB7005, and a Horween Chromexcel leather band (bottom), which has been aged and developed a unique texture through actual use. Cordura ballistic nylon is a highly durable fiber material that is approximately seven times stronger than nylon.

In September 2017, Epson decided to further focus on its original watchmaking business and launched its own brand, TRUME, as a platform to reinforce its venturesome spirit. The first model combined the energy-saving, compact, and high-precision technologies the company has cultivated since its founding with its current core advanced sensor and communications technologies. The watch attracted industry attention as a unique analog watch, featuring a built-in GPS sensor, barometric pressure and altitude sensor, and direction sensor in a compact case. By connecting to an external expanded sensor, the watch displays a wide range of measurements, including altitude, direction, and barometric pressure, as well as UV levels, temperature, steps, and calories burned, all with analog hands. While retaining the TRUME philosophy, the second model has already been released, refining functionality and design through a minimalist aesthetic and incorporating new features such as aging and band replacement, allowing users to customize the watch to their liking.

The aesthetic of "subtraction" was realized

Based on the concept of a "watch you'll want to touch" that appeals to the senses, TRUME fully utilizes Epson's development and technological capabilities, as well as the human resources and manufacturing facilities that make it possible, demonstrating the originality that is Epson's forte. In February 2018, while the enthusiasm for the first model was still high, the release of the second model was announced as early as possible. While the first model was equipped with high functionality and multiple functions that no other company could match, by incorporating as much of Epson's specialty sensor technology as possible into the watch body and external devices, this second model, based on the concept of "aiming to perfect analog watches with cutting-edge technology," follows the sensing technology while placing more emphasis on the scenes in which the watch will be used, and each collection is flavored with details that are strongly conscious of visibility and a well-tailored style that can be used for a long time without getting bored, expanding the lineup. Furthermore, there is a wider range of prices, so that it can appeal to a wide range of users.
This allows us to offer a model that suits each individual style.
This second series is made up of two collections: the "M Collection," inspired by "Marine/Yacht," and the "C Collection," named after the initial letter of "City," which evokes the image of an urban city. Incidentally, the first series was named the "L Collection," named after the initial letter of "LAND," which symbolizes the speed derived from the basic chronograph function as a car.

For the second TRUME model, the design of the center hand, the most eye-catching feature on the dial, has also been revised. By reducing excessive decoration and giving it sufficient length and intricate details, the designers have worked hard to achieve the functionality, readability, and aesthetics that are appropriate for an original analog watch.

To ensure readability in the dark, the hands and hour markers on the dial are coated with luminous material (high-intensity luminous material). The crystal is made of sapphire crystal and features an SAR coating to reduce reflections, ensuring visibility from any angle while also providing the durability of sapphire crystal.

The ceramic bezel is engraved with a high-precision laser to mark the 100-division value for the center hand. The typeface is the T2 font, which Epson designed exclusively for the new M Collection. This typeface is designed to be easy to read given the size of the numbers, while also pursuing the tool-like feel of a wristwatch.

The M Collection, inspired by yachts, aims for a more active design than the C Collection, which is designed for urban use, and so the pushers have been changed to a streamlined oval shape that blends in well with the case. The L Collection and C Collection retain the traditional round shape.

Not only the pushers, but also the barometric pressure and altitude sensor located at the 4 o'clock position on the side of the case have been redesigned and made thinner than in the first L Collection. As a result, the case side, along with the pushers, gives a lively and light impression, and the drab color of the yacht theme color also serves as an effective accent.

The M collection, which aims to be an active watch inspired by the sea and also has functionality, uses titanium for the case, just like the L collection. However, the TRMB7005, which comes with a leather band as standard, is made entirely of titanium, even down to the spring bars and spring bar pipes.
The spring bar pipes are clearly marked "TITANIUM".
