Hirota: But once you've developed your own shape and style, don't you sometimes feel like you want to change it?
Shimada: Yes, I do (laughs). That's why I sometimes buy limited edition G-Shock models. Recently, I've been DJing for fun, so I've been wearing some bulky glasses and watches that I don't normally wear (laughs). I use them to change the way I present myself depending on the situation.
Hirota: Like a switch?
Shimada: Yes. It flips a switch.
Hirota: That's certainly true with watches. You can't easily change the environment you live in, but you can certainly change your mood by changing the things you carry with you. On the other hand, do you have a watch that you wear when you want to look sharp, even if it's not a special watch?
