What are your memories of when you first encountered a watch or piece of jewelry that you were fond of, or the first piece you bought?
We will introduce the stories of women who are active in a variety of fields.

Mika

After graduating from Bunka Fashion College, she worked for an apparel manufacturer for about 10 years. In 2002, she opened the hair salon "AMATA." She is a hair diagnostician and is also active in a wide range of fields, including beauty product production and consulting.
Mika's lustrous, silky black hair catches everyone's eye. After working as a fashion designer for around 10 years, she aimed to create a salon that she would "really want to visit," and in 2002 opened the hair salon "AMATA" in Minami-Aoyama, Tokyo. Since then, the salon has attracted attention as a place where stylish adult women gather. Mika, who is busy every day as the owner, has a Rado "Integral" as her "partner." The brilliant diamonds adorning the black case harmonize beautifully with Mika's jet-black hair.
"I saw this model featured in Vogue magazine some time ago, and fell in love at first sight with its elegant atmosphere and futuristic design, so I rushed out to buy it. I wear it every day, so now it feels like a part of me."
These days, many people use their cell phones as watches, but for Mika, a watch is "an indispensable part of my work."
"When I look at an analog clock, I can intuitively tell myself, 'I have 15 minutes until my next appointment. Then I can do this and that.' Also, when I see the hands steadily ticking away, it makes me want to do my best too!"
The watch I have the most attachment to is an Emeric Meisson that I bought on a business trip to France in my early twenties.
"I thought the square shape and gold color were really cool. I was excited by the beauty of Paris when I visited for the first time, and I wanted to buy something to commemorate it. Even when it broke, I kept repairing it and continued to use it. At the time, I was so busy I barely had time to sleep, but when I saw the watch, I would suddenly become more enthusiastic about my work."
After that, I got the Bulgari Solo Tempo, the Louis Vuitton Tambour, and the Bedat & Co. No. 1.
"Just imagining what kind of 'partner' I'll meet next gets me excited. I'm always checking the latest information from SIHH (Geneva Salon) and Baselworld, so I'm prepared for that 'encounter' (laughs)."
