Maya Masai, a freelance announcer, is expanding her field of activity, appearing as a commentator on the TBS information program "Vivit." Born to a Mexican father and a Japanese mother, Masai, with her deeply chiseled features, is an attractive woman with two cultural backgrounds.
Her favorite recent purchase is Pomellato's "Nude." The rose gold ring is adorned with a large white topaz stone. "My beloved grandmother who lived in Mexico recently passed away. I was thinking about wanting something to keep as a memento, and then I saw "Nude" in a magazine and it felt like fate."
Masai's eyes become gentler than usual when he talks about Mexico. "The watches my grandmother and aunts in Mexico wore were Cartier. They also gave me Cartier pens and wallets as Christmas presents. So, it's a brand I admire and holds a special place in my heart."
The first watch Masai bought himself was the Cartier Santos de Cartier, and he also chose the Trinity de Cartier for his wedding ring.
Her intellectual aura and her job as a news announcer give her the image of a reliable woman, but she revealed, "I lose things easily." "If I were to lose my wedding ring, I would regret it forever, so I got a classic one that is unlikely to be discontinued. I'm secretly thinking, 'Maybe I should buy another one as a spare' (laughs)."
For such a cheerful and easygoing person, the one thing Masai hopes to own in the future is a Cartier. "I would like to own a La Doña de Cartier watch someday. In fact, the great Mexican actress of the past, Maria Felix, was my grandfather's cousin. There is an anecdote that she brought her pet crocodile to a Cartier store and ordered it as a motif. This watch was completed based on that model. I was very sad to hear that it was discontinued. I would love to see it revived!"
