TRUME
Seiko Epson is now a global manufacturer of electronic devices and electronic equipment, from printers and projectors to various sensors and displays. Its founding business was the manufacture and assembly of wristwatch parts. Well-known among watch enthusiasts, the company is also a watchmaker that has made significant contributions to the evolution of wristwatches, including developing the world's first quartz watch. Furthermore, it is a rare presence in the world in that it can even manufacture artificial quartz, the key component of quartz watches, in-house. With this background, Seiko Epson has developed its own brand, "TRUME." Debuting in 2017, this analog electronic watch was developed using the company's extensive technology and is full of fun to operate.
Its distinctive features include a GPS module that receives radio waves from Global Positioning System satellites orbiting the Earth, as well as a pressure and altitude sensor that precisely detects air pressure and measures air pressure and altitude, and a direction sensor that detects geomagnetic fields to determine direction. Let's start with the appeal of the Breakline, the second model in the L Collection. These two limited edition models were created to support active adventure travelers who are not afraid to venture into the hidden reaches of nature in search of undiscovered, spectacular views and exciting experiences.
What catches your eye at first glance is the earth-toned ceramic bezel, which evokes the earth and soil of the plants and trees that thrive in nature, and the refined texture of the stone-finish titanium case side, which has been polished using barrel polishing.
The TR-MB7008 Limited Edition shown above features a matte gold case and a savanna green bezel. The TR-MB7009 Limited Edition shown on page 112 features a charcoal gray case and a canyon brown bezel. This exquisite color combination is also a fresh addition to any TRUME watch to date.
Two types of bands are included: one made of Cordura ballistic nylon, also in exquisite colors to match the case and bezel color, and the other made of Chromexcel leather from Horween, an American company.These are pull-through bands, so owners can easily change them themselves at any time.
In addition to the barometric pressure and altitude sensors found on all TRUME models, this watch also features a built-in compass sensor. Its hands indicate changes in barometric pressure and altitude, trends, and the direction of your current location. It also features a waypoint function, useful when traveling in unfamiliar territory. When traveling, you first memorize your starting point, and the small second hand at 10 o'clock indicates the direction from your current location to that starting point, while the measuring hand at 2 o'clock displays the distance to the starting point up to a maximum of 9.9 km. The center hand always points north during this time. This is a desirable feature for travelers exploring unknown terrain on foot.
