We are now in the season when outdoor activities become even more popular in the breezy outdoors. Outdoor activities allow us to escape from our daily work and stresses and forget about our daily lives. For outdoor activities, we want a watch that is scratch-resistant and shock-resistant. In this feature, we will introduce four tough watches that are also suitable for the outdoors.
Ball Watch
"Engineer Hydrocarbon Devguru"

If you're behind the wheel of an off-road vehicle and driving over bumpy roads and rocky slopes, your watch needs to be able to withstand vibrations and shocks. The Ball Watch Engineer Hydrocarbon Debguru features a variety of protective mechanisms inside and outside the case. First, there's the Shock-Resistant Crown Protection. Impacts to the crown can travel along the winding stem and cause significant damage to the movement. This crown guard, located around the outer periphery of the crown, disperses the impact. Next, the movement's internal regulating mechanism features a spring lock to prevent the balance spring from moving too much and becoming unstable in the event of an impact, and a spring seal to regulate the movement of the regulator. Ball Watch has patented the spring lock and spring seal. Additionally, the entire movement is covered in a shock-resistant elastomer. The watch features a patented shock-resistant escapement mechanism, with a metal ring protecting the balance spring. The sapphire crystal and black dial are also protected. The bezel, set into the stainless steel case, slightly overlaps the sapphire crystal, protecting the crystal from damage. The case can withstand drops from a height of 1.5 meters, which is 1.5 times the height required for standard shock resistance testing. The watch is water resistant to 100 meters, making it submersible.
Sinn
"EZM12"

Sinn has created a series of mission timers aptly named "EZM" (Einsatz Zeit Messer, or "mission timer" in German). One model, the "EZM12," is designed for emergency medical technicians aboard helicopter rescue teams. The dial features the "Platinum Ten Minutes" and "Golden Hour," which define the actions of rescue and lifesaving missions. A pulse meter is also located inside. Its robust construction makes it a recommended choice for outdoor use. The stainless steel case with Tegiment technology offers scratch resistance that exceeds that of ceramic. Its 200m water resistance is also reliable. The bezel can be removed using the included special tool for thorough cleaning and disinfection. Sinn also guarantees functional operation in temperatures ranging from -45°C to +80°C. This makes it suitable for both summer and icy mountain climbing.
Tag Heuer
"Aquaracer Caliber 5"

The TAG Heuer Aquaracer Calibre 5, with its all-khaki color, is easy to coordinate with outdoor fashion, which often makes heavy use of earth tones. Its unique double safety buckle and 300m water resistance make it ideal for waterside and underwater activities. The fabric strap provides excellent comfort on the wrist. The case is crafted from lightweight, robust, and resilient black PVD-coated titanium. This case is paired with a green unidirectional rotating aluminum bezel with anodized finish for extra hardness and scratch resistance.
Oris
"Big Crown ProPilot Chronograph"

When walking in nature, the weather is a concern. Lightning strikes are also something to be aware of. A watch with a telemeter function can be useful in situations like these. A telemeter is a chronograph function that uses the difference in the speeds of light and sound to calculate the distance between two distant points. This function can be applied to determine the approximate distance to lightning by the light and sound of lightning. The inner bezel of the Oris Big Crown ProPilot Chronograph, developed for professional pilots, also features a telemeter. The chronograph movement used in this watch is based on the Sellita SW 500. The larger-than-normal crown was designed to be easy for pilots to operate even while wearing gloves, which may also be useful in outdoor situations.
