Chopard's LUC XPS Azur evokes the summer of the French Riviera

The LUC XPS Azur is a new addition to Chopard's flagship collection, LUC (the initials of the brand's founder, Louis-Ulysse Chopard). The 18K white gold case features vertically satin-brushed edges, a polished bezel and caseback, and an anti-reflective sapphire crystal crystal. The eye-catching vibrant blue dial features a luminous, radial guilloched pattern centered on the brand logo below 12 o'clock. Rhodium-plated dauphine hands indicate the hours on baguette-cut indexes, while a small second and date display are located at 6 o'clock. The see-through caseback is made of sapphire crystal.

　The movement is equipped with the in-house automatic caliber LUC 96.01-L, which features a 22K gold micro-rotor and two barrels (TWIN technology). The movement is COSC certified and has also received the Hallmark of Geneva. Its finishing touches, such as the chamfering, circular graining on the main plate, and Côtes de Genève on the bridges, are in keeping with the finest Haute Horlogerie standards.

　
　In July 2018, Chopard announced that all of its watches and jewelry would use ethical gold. This is part of the brand's "Journey to Sustainable Luxury," which began in 2013. The Palme d'Or, awarded to the best film at the Cannes Film Festival, uses Fairmined certified gold for its palm leaf motif. Of course, the case material used for the LUC XPS Azur is also white gold mined in a way that complies with the brand's ethical standards.
