Tamori is a man who is loved by people of all ages and genders for his unique and natural way of making jokes. He is a national talent who is one of Japan's "big three comedians" along with Beat Takeshi and Sanma Akashiya.
Born in Fukuoka in 1945, he has loved ships since he was a child and would often spend time watching them at the local harbor. His love for ships led him to obtain a small vessel operator's license (first class, special), and from 2009 he served as the chairman of the Tamori Cup, a yacht race held all over Japan, for 10 years.
