The Admiral's Cup is an international ocean-going yacht race held by members of the Royal Ocean Racing Club, a British sailing club, from 1957 to 2003. Corum has been offering the Admiral collection since 1960 in homage to this legendary race. With its nautical design, it is one of Corum's signature pieces. This time, we will introduce two new models added to the collection in 2020: the Admiral Legend 42, which features a bronze case.

Corum Admiral Legend 42

Automatic winding (Cal. CO 395). 27 jewels. 28,800 vph. Power reserve approximately 42 hours. Bronze case (diameter 42mm, thickness 10mm). Water resistant to 50m. Alligator strap. Price: 670,000 yen (excluding tax).

When discussing the current Admiral collection's distinctive features, the first thing that comes to mind is its 12-sided case, a design that Corum has been using since 1983. Previous models featured a generous 48mm diameter, but the new 2020 model has been significantly reduced to 42mm. In keeping with the collection's design code, each of the 12 corners is decorated with hour markers made up of international signal flags representing the 10 numbers from 0 to 9. The most distinctive feature of this model is the use of bronze for the case, bezel, and crown. The satin-finished bronze will patina its beauty over time, cherishing the owner's memories of the sea.

The dial is available in two colors: navy blue and dark marine green, both of which have become popular in the watch industry in recent years. The hollowed-out and faceted hour and minute hands are finished with gold PVD and coated with blue or green Super-LumiNova to match the dial. A small aperture for the date display is located next to the flag at 3 o'clock, and a small seconds hand is located at 6 o'clock. The automatic movement is the ETA-based caliber CO 395, which can be viewed through the sapphire crystal on the PVD-coated stainless steel case back.

The watch is fitted with an alligator strap that matches the dial color and is secured with a PVD-coated stainless steel triple folding buckle.
Sales in Japan are scheduled to begin in July 2020. This is a watch that will make you look forward to the arrival of summer even more.

The navy blue color enhances the atmosphere of a marine watch.

The marine green color complements the bronze case.
