FP Journe's Chronomètre Ésonance, released in 2000, is known as the first wristwatch to feature resonance, a mechanism that reduces the influence of external disturbances by "resonating" the movements of two balance wheels. François-Paul Journe, the brand's leader, studied the resonance phenomenon discovered by 18th-century watchmaker Antide Janvier and spent approximately 15 years perfecting this mechanism. The model introduced here is a new model released in 2020 and is the fifth generation.
