Meryl Streep, an actress who has been described as a "living Hollywood legend" and holds the record for the most Academy Award nominations with 21 nominations, has been a key figure in Hollywood for over 40 years. Born in New Jersey in 1949, she has always captivated audiences by embracing her natural beauty and gracefulness. She was 45 when she appeared in "The Bridges of Madison County" (1995), a tragic love story; 57 when she played the editor-in-chief of a leading fashion magazine in "The Devil Wears Prada" (2006); and 62 when she appeared in "The Iron Lady" (2011), a film about the life of Britain's first female Prime Minister, showing us the joys of aging on screen.

The photo we'll be introducing this time is of Meryl Streep appearing at the world premiere in Washington DC in 2017. Take a look at the watch she's wearing to go with her gorgeous Prada suit adorned with fur. The watch shown here is Cartier's iconic Panthère watch.

The Panthère de Cartier is a ladies' watch that combines the elegance of Cartier with the look of an accessory. Its basic design codes include a square case, a five-piece bracelet with fine links, and the classic Cartier watch features: Roman numerals, tempered blue sword-shaped hands, and a square railway track. Other distinctive features include the eight screws on the bezel. It is currently available in three sizes: the Mini (25mm x 21mm), the Small (30mm x 22mm), and the Medium (37mm x 27mm).

Another ladies' watch with many similar features is the Santos Demoiselle, which was discontinued in 2017. However, the Panthère and Santos Demoiselle differ in that the latter has a flat bezel without screws and an overall clean, flat structure. When comparing these two models, it becomes clear why the name "Panthère" was chosen. "Panthère" is French for "leopard" (or panther in English). As its name suggests, the Panthère de Cartier stands out for its flowing curves, which are reminiscent of the body lines of a leopard.

The Santos Demoiselle was born as a women's model of the Santos. Unlike the Panthère, it has a clean, flat structure.

The first Cartier Panthère appeared in 1914 as a ladies' watch featuring a leopard print made of diamonds and onyx. Since then, the Panthère motif has been used in a variety of jewelry pieces, including brooches, rings, and necklaces. The Panthère de Cartier, which inherits Cartier's DNA, was born in 1983 and was discontinued around 2008, but has maintained its enduring popularity and was revived in 17.

This 1914 ladies' watch was the first Cartier watch to feature the panthère pattern.

Meryl Streep received a standing ovation for her politically charged speech at the 2017 Golden Globe Awards, the same year this photo was taken. The Panther, which brings out her dignified inner strength, is a perfect match for her.
