Bold design, innovative mechanisms, and unwavering creativity are the principles of Maximilian Büsser and Friends (MB&F). These are the principles that MB&F has always held in mind when creating its Horological Machines. This time, we will be introducing the HM3 FrogX, a new addition to the Horological Machines collection, which has been revived after a 10-year hiatus.

MB&F "HM3 Frog X"

MB&F's HM3 Frog X is the revival of the third Horological Machine model, released in 2010, for the first time in 10 years.

HM3 Frog X

The MB&F HM3 FrogX comes in three versions, each limited to 10 pieces. Automatic (Girard-Perregaux base). 36 jewels. 28,800 vph. Sapphire crystal (52.7mm x 48.3mm x 17.5mm thick). Water resistant to 3 bar.

The HM3 Frog is back after a 10-year hiatus

The HM3 Frog, faithfully reflecting MB&F's tradition of bold design, innovative mechanisms, and unwavering ideas, was released in 2010. With the hour and minute displays as spherical "eyes" and the battle-axe-shaped automatic winding rotor as a mouth, the watch had an outstanding presence on the wrist at the time.

The uniquely positioned crown is used to wind the movement and set the time.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of this special timepiece, the HM3 Frog X was released in 20. This new model has been designed to allow even greater enjoyment of the HM3's "engine." Sapphire crystal has been used for the case, allowing for a wider view of the movement bridges and other components that were previously hidden by the case.

The movement is based on a Girard-Perregaux movement, which Agenor has modified.

But like its predecessor, the real draw of the HM3 are the two paper-thin domes at 5 and 7 o'clock, the former displaying the minutes and the latter the hours, rotating beneath frog-pupil markers.

The hours and minutes are displayed by two frog-shaped dome "eyes."

Hidden Battle Axe

When using the crown to wind and set the time, you might look for the battle axe, inspired by the Japanese robot anime Grendizer, on the crown, as on other MB&F models, but the crown itself does not bear this symbol.

The turquoise model is paired with a white leather strap.

But, as you'd expect from MB&F, the HM3 FrogX has a hidden call sign that's only visible at the right angle and with the right light reflection: a microscopic finish on the metal crown that reflects light in a very special way, projecting the image of a battle axe.

The purple model uses purple Super-LumiNova.

The HM3 Frog X is available in three limited editions of 10 pieces each, with blue, purple, and turquoise rotors and matching Super-LumiNova and gaskets.
